WORK FROM HOME ESSENTIALS Like many people, I’ve been working from home for over a week now as we practice social distancing. In an effort to keep things calm and somewhat consistent, I’ve ABOUT – MR ESSENTIALIST An online destination for the discerning man, MR ESSENTIALIST . was founded in Nelson, New Zealand, by Alexander Atkins. MR ESSENTIALIST is based in New York City. JOHN DAVIS – FOUNDER, AG HAIR – MR ESSENTIALIST On Roots: “My background originally is as a hair stylist.I moved to North America from Liverpool in the early 1970s, right around when the whole Vidal Sassoon thing was kicking-off. My wife Lotte and I started AG Hair in 1989 with about five thousand dollars. At first we used a third-party manufacturer and filled product ourselves (at home, usually at night) – we even stuck labels on to COFFEE TABLE BOOKS I LOVE I’ve been an avid collector of coffee table books for some time. There is something incredibly satisfying about curating a collection that’s both visually impactful and intellectually stimulating. THE REVIEW: BEAUTY SLEEP BOOSTERS The good news? New York Fashion Week is officially over (thank you Marc Jacobs). The bad news? Your skin probably hates you – a lot. That’s what a string of late nights, early mornings and bad nutrition (or no nutrition) paired with a packed schedule will do toyour pores.
ORGANIZED LUXURY: THE LOUIS VUITTON AGENDA Just like any golf swing, the art being and staying organized is something we can all proactively improve upon. That paired with the fact that it’s Fashion Week (and the expectation of being two places at once is a reality) means there’s no time like now to get serious. While I’ll concede that the gentle ding of an iPhone calendar with a ten minute warning (and built-in GPS) is handy THE FREEMANS SPORTING CLUB BARBERSHOP EXPERIENCE Shaving, like most routine things, can become quite the chore. If you do it in a rush your haste will likely show-up on your face (nicks, cuts, razor burn, etc). RANCH LIFE WITH TOM FORD Traditionally I suppose the concept of the American ranch would impart images of expansive prairies, wrap-around porches, wooden homesteadsand cattle.
HOW TO WEAR GREY THIS WINTER It began with a leather bomber.Tailored to a tee and exceptionally buttery, the jacket launched my full-fledged obsession with all things grey. Now, five years and countless acquisitions later, I realize just how intuitive wearing my favorite color has become, especially where coats are concerned. WHY CASUAL BOMBER JACKETS RULE As far as bombers go, I’m typically a fan. A great bomber jacket is magic for many reasons, and especially effective if layered above a patterned shirt or bulked-up over a hoodie (I’ve been switching between both lately). What’s more, the bomber is your friend when it comes to transitioning for fall. I love wearing one on those balmy afternoons that render leather jackets torturous.MR ESSENTIALIST

THE COLLECTABLES: BEARBRICK TOYS The anthropomorphized bear is made from nine simple parts including a signature pot belly and swivel head – which have been known to double as iPhone speakers or atomizers. That’s right dear reader – art meets function. Also Bearbrick’s collaborations (which are always epic and extremely rare) include promotional pieces for DaftPunk

The curation of photographs (spanning several decades) aptly illustrates how the quintessential Italian summer should be NICK FOUQUET, HATMAKER Nick Fouquet, Hatmaker. A FEW WINTER ESSENTIALS After either cleansing or showering my skin is left dry, lackluster and itchy, which makes things extra miserable. Enter a few of my favorite grooming essentials to combat winter’s frosty bite, all of which I picked up at Walmart. Aside from convenience (an absolute essential), Walmart’s grooming and beauty offering is trulyexceptional.
STARRY EYED: FOREVER 21 Here’s the real point; thank god for Forever 21.Accessible and on-trend, their star print crewneck and short-sleeved shirt mean serious intergalactic fun.
