Those workers toiled 12 hour a day, 6 days a week for pay as little as $4 per day. CONSTRUCTION WORKERS IN GCC: DEBT, DEATH AND BROKEN DREAMS Construction workers comprise a significant percentage of the Gulf’s migrant workforce. Though the brunt of international criticism has focused on Qatar in recent years, construction workers Gulf-wide are vulnerable to the exploitation. NEPAL FREE VISA, FREE TICKET POLICY DOESN’T DETER DEMAND In July 2015, Nepal began its ‘free visa, free ticket’ policy, whereby, potential migrants paid no more than NPR20,000 in processing fees, and the employer bore the costs of tickets and visa. KUWAIT SOCIETY FOR HUMAN RIGHTS LAUNCHES HOTLINE & E The Kuwait Society for Human Rights (KSHR) has launched a hotline for expatriate workers to submit complaints and understand their legal rights. The hotline 22215150 is available in Arabic, Arabic, English, Filipino, Hindi and Urdu.
