DESIGNING MISSIONS FOR STAR TREKWORLD OF DARKNESS
Published on November 6, 2020. November 24, 2020 by Mephit James. 2 Comments. Today I’m here to highlight an awesome product through the Storyteller’s Vault and World of Darkness. Savage Age is a fan setting for Werewolf: The Apocalypse (specifically the 20th Anniversary rules) which features prehistoric action adventure.LEX ARCANA REVIEW
Lex Arcana is a game of fighting supernatural threats as an elite soldier of the Roman Empire. That right there was enough to hook me but it’s also beautifully designed and has 25 years of history as an Italian RPG produced by Quality Games. EXPLORING EBERRON REVIEW, PART 1 Exploring Eberron Review, Part 1 – Mephit James' Blog. I’m back today with more Eberron action, this time from the brand new Exploring Eberron book produced by setting creator Keith Baker and a host of very talented writers. While Rising From the Last War (the subject of three previous posts) updated the setting to 5e, this book includes SMALL AND FORGOTTEN GODS GENERATOR Small and Forgotten Gods Generator. Published on April 13, 2021. April 14, 2021 by Mephit James. One thing that I didn’t spend a lot of time on in my Wanderhome review was the “small and forgotten gods” of the setting. On the one hand, they’re small spirits that add a “Studio Ghibli” vibe to the game. On the other hand, they’re a SCENARIOS FOR ACHTUNG! CTHULHU I really love the Achtung! CAPERS REVIEW
CAPERS Review. The “Roaring Twenties” was a time of extremes in the United States. While Prohibition had outlawed alcohol, drinking and vice were on the rise in secret speakeasies. Police officers might be everywhere enforcing the morality laws of the day but the attention pushed criminals to organize and grow more powerful than ever. FATEFORGE, PART 3: BACKGROUNDS AND CLASSES The druid is unchanged, even with wild shape, and the Circle of the Land is the same in features and spells. The new Fateforge option is the Circle of the Spirits which makes the druid more of a totemic, mystical spellcaster than a stone-circle-worshipping nature caster. The fighter is, unsurprisingly, unchanged as well but there’s an optional feature for unarmored defense among cultures inSAMPLE SCION BAND
Sample Scion Band. Published on October 30, 2018. January 8, 2019 by Mephit James. In my review of Scion Origin I could only fit so much detail in there but there’s so much more to say! I’m going to try to make a three-person band for a Scion game and see how it turns out. I’ll be trying to break the system a little here so we’ll see REALISTIC ALIEN ECOSYSTEMS So, I've been looking up a lot of science discussions about aliens for an upcoming project (you'll see) and it's a bit of a rabbit hole to say the least. There are countless examples of aliens out there from Star Trek's various foreheads to the tongue-in-cheek aliens of Futurama. But for a hard sci-fi setting like Eclipse Phase that won't REVIEW OF BUILDING TOMORROW With the release of the new "edition" (I think it doesn't exactly count but ymmv) of Numenera and the twin rulebooks of Discovery and Destiny, the Ninth World has been headed in new directions. Among these really exciting options are numenera crafting and community building which enrich the possibilities for your Numenera campaign. LIFEPATH SYSTEM FOR D&D Published on February 13, 2020February 12, 2020by Mephit James

I love lifepath generation. Similar to an active session zero, using
lifepath generation lets you start a campaign with mechanics _and_ a colorful backstory. In my experience it gives you a richer character whether you’re new to the game or a veteran. Lifepath generation hasn’t been an option for _D&D_ before so I’m doing it myself! This is a preview of a product that I’m creating for The DM’s Guild. Let me know what you think! Alright! We’re at the end of our run of _Agents of Yesterday _, the time-displaced expansion for _Star Trek Online_. The first post in this mini-series just looked at starships of the 26th century and what options you had. The second post looked at eight different spaceframes that feature in the expansion, both 23rd century vessels and the 26th century versions they inspired. Today we’re going to look at one of the story’s most compelling details: time travel. Continue reading “STO Spaceframes: Agents of Yesterday, Part 3”→

INVISIBLE SUN’S WEAVERS Published on February 6, 2020March 20, 2020by Mephit James

I’ll be using a pregenerated character again this time. PALOME is a _Stalwart Stoic of the Order of Weavers who Explores the Nöosphere_ which makes him an exciting character to play in a campaign, not least because she’s got an open freakin’ book as a head. I created GemmaFrostwhistle
for a campaign but when I wanted to try a weaver in a separate campaign Palome was just too interesting to pass up. Continue reading “Invisible Sun’s Weavers” → Categories Making Characters•Tags

Since first seeing the Kickstarter for _Bite Marks _ by Black Armada, I’ve been intrigued in figuring out exactly what this game is about. It’s werewolves, certainly, but geared more towards pack dynamics than the usual tropes. _Bite Marks_ is now available for preorder at the link above, and if you’re considering it then you might be having the same questions. Read on to find out a little more about what you canexpect!

Back in 2016, _Star Trek Online_ celebrated the 50th anniversary of the _Star Trek_ franchise with the release of the “Agents ofYesterday ”
expansion. This involved a new faction (Starfleet in the 23rd century) but it was also connected to the _Star Trek Online_ main plot through some time-traveling shenanigans. It might be messy to meld altogether from an RPG standpoint but we’re doing it all so here we go! Continue reading “STO Spaceframes: Agents of Yesterday, Part 1”→

So I’ve been reading a great book called _Irish Tales of Mystery &Magic

with the Little Mephling. It’s a
really fun book that lets me explore the tales of my ancestors (_Dia dhuit, gaeilgeoirí ar bith!_) and its casual storytelling has given me a new appreciation for Fionn mac Cumhail. There’s nothing
left to do with an appreciation like that than to create him in _Cityof Mist_!

HAPPY ENTERPRISE DAY! Published on January 17, 2020January 16, 2020by Mephit James

Today is January 17th, otherwise written as 17/01 (besides in the U.S.) which makes it the perfect day to celebrate the _U.S.S. Enterprise_ NCC-1701! This is a great tradition that I’m glad exists and to celebrate it I’ve come up with a set of new spaceframes from the era of the original _Star Trek _series. Jester Dave has previously come up with a bunch to supplement the _Constitution_ class and the _Miranda_ class in the core rulebook. I gathered together his era-appropriate spaceframes in a single pdf for your convenience. Below that is a new pdf with six different spaceframes from the tumultuous Battle of the Binary Starsin
the pilot of _Star Trek: Discovery_. These are the _Cardenas_ class, the _Engle_
class , the _Hoover_class , the
_Malachowski_ class
, the _Nimitz_
class , and the
_Shepard_ class .
Use them for your TOS-era _Star Trek Adventures_ game
or as leftover spaceframes from a previous era. And give me feedbackby all means!
