What's on display? The MAS is more than a museum. It is an impressive repository in the middle of the Eilandje, a thriving neighbourhood. Its Boulevard with 6-metre-high glass panels will take you 60 metres higher. You'll encounter a new tale about Antwerp, the river and the port on every storey. The collection boasts over 500,000 museumpieces.

Stuff | Museum MAS. The Belgian philosopher Jaap Kruithof (1929-2009) collected 10,000 items, things that other people usually discard. He was a serious critic of our culture of disposability. Half of the Kruithof collection is being given a new life thanks to the visual work of artists Guy Rombouts and Benjamin Verdonck. PRACTICAL INFORMATION Precautionary measuresTo slow down the spread of the coronavirus, free access to the MAS isn't possible. You must always reserve a ticket. Book your ticket in advance, online.Only a limited number of visitors are allowed in fixed time slots. However, between October 1944 and March 1945, the city was plagued for months by attacks, with the feared V1 and V2-bombs raining down from Germany and the Netherlands. Burez' work is characterised by an almost surrealist view of familiar images, often giving the impression that his photographs float between two worlds.
