We all want our embroideries to look their best and tension is one of the factors which affects the quality of the stitch out. The tension for machine embroidery is VERSION 6 AND 7 COURSE 1 This course is particularly good for beginners, but more experienced digitizers will benefit also. Although all instructions are for V6 & V7, owners of V5 should be able to do the course using the V6material.

MACHINE TENSION
Check your machine’s instruction manual for the correct settings. You can check your tension by doing a test embroidery. Using the inbuilt lettering on your machine, stitch out the letters EPNS in a block type font. Choose a size about 20mm high. If you look at the underside of the embroidery, you should see the upper thread on bothsides of
VERSION 6 AND 7 COURSE 1 Version 6 and 7 Course 1. This course is particularly good for beginners, but more experienced digitizers will benefit also. IN THE HOOP QUILTING Quilting a large completed quilt in the. hoop, even with the longer arm machines can lead to all sorts of problems. The weight and bulk of the quilt could. easily impede the movement of the embroidery arm. Keeping the parts of the quilt, not being embroidered, clear PUFFY FOAM – MACHINE EMBROIDERY AND DIGITIZING Puffy Foam. Puffy Foam is used in embroidery to pad stitching to give a three dimensional look. Sulky produce packs of this foam in 2mm and 3mm thicknesses. You need to use foam that tears easily. Not all foamsheets will work.

Digitize a VERSION 6 AND 7 COURSE 1 Version 6 and 7 Course 1. This course is particularly good for beginners, but more experienced digitizers will benefit also. Although all instructions are for V6 & V7, owners of V5 should be able to do the course using the V6 material. The software interface is slightly different, but I will answer any questions arising from thesedifferences.
STABILIZERS
Check what your machine defaults to when not embroidering. Hoop up for a test sew using. the same weight thread, fabric, wadding and stabiliser that you will be using in your. project. Increase your top tension to the default for normal sewing. Sew part of the design. andcheck the back.
