FATIGUE - LYMPHOMATION Fatigue may be one of the least understood symptoms of lymphoma and other cancers. It is the experience of low energy levels - of feeling tired. It is common to patients with lymphoma as a symptom of the disease , but also a common side effect of treatments. NOTES ON THE IMPORTANCE OF DOSE The safety record for phase I trials is very good because of the extra steps to monitor for patient safety. The patient is followed carefully by monitoring factors in the blood – such as elevated kidney and liver enzymes. Flu-like feeling. symptoms of aches, fever, chills, such as from advanced and progressing lymphoma but is also common to other condition such as the flu. Infections. LYMPHOMA CLASSIFICATIONS Anther way to classify is by lymphocyte type: b-cell, t-cell, NK-cell. (B-cell is most common). Treatments for the various subtypes of lymphoma can vary significantly. This group supports all types of lymphoma. Or does it's best to find and post evidence-based information as questions comes in.ABOUT REMISSIONS
Remission is the absence of disease activity in patients with a chronic illness. A remission can be complete or partial as described below. Complete remission is the absence of active disease with no evidence of disease as indicated by imaging, such as CT and PET, and sometimes by bone marrow biopsy. It may be caused by decreased platelet production by the bone marrow (due to lymphoma in the marrow or damage to the marrow); increased trapping of platelets by the spleen; or a more rapid than normal destruction of platelets. When the cause is unknown it may be called Idiopathic or Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP) "ITP is defined asisolated
WATCHFUL WAITING AND MONITORING INDOLENT LYMPHOMAS About Watchful Waiting. When you have an indolent (slow growing) lymphoma that is not causing symptoms (such as fatigue) or is not putting you in danger, your doctor might recommend watchful waiting, even when the disease is at an advanced stage. One reason your doctor might recommend observation is that the indolent lymphomas can remainstable
DIET GUIDELINES FOR IMMUNE SUPPRESSED Drink lots of liquids through a straw to bypass mouth sours. The clinical relevance of the grading system is still debated. Grade 3b is often treated as an aggressive (high grade) lymphoma. Grade 3a can behave and is sometimes treated as a low grade lymphoma. low grade or indolent. Grade 1 = small cell. Grade 2 = mixed small and largecell.
STAGING LYMPHOMAS
Ann Arbor staging further classifies patients with lymphoma into A or B categories. B = with symptoms including unexplained weight loss (10% in 6 months prior to diagnosis, unexplained fever, and drenching night sweats.) Disease Staging may also be accompanied by local involvement of an extranodal organ or site.PATIENT STORIES

ABOUT TRANSFORMATION Rapid growth or discordant (uneven) growth between various disease sites. S udden rise in LDH (2X baseline) Unusual extranodal involvement (eg, liver, bone, muscle, brain) - excluding bone marrow. N ew and persistent onset of b-symptoms. RITUXAN - LYMPHOMATION Rituxan is a man-made antibody that binds to a molecule that exists only on mature b-cell lymphocytes, both malignant and nonmalignant (cancerous and normal). It binds to this unique molecule like a key fits a lock; its shape complementary to a portion of the cd20receptor.
PET IMAGING
PET stands for P ositron E mission T omography. After treatment, doctors use a PET scan to see if the visible tumors are taking up the PET tracer. The PET tracer is injected into the blood prior to the scan. The PET tracer has two parts: glucose, and a mildly radioactivepart.

A Blood Test is a procedure in which a sample of blood is taken and later analyzed in a laboratory for signals (markers) of infection, disease or abnormality. BONE DENSITY LOSS RELATED TO LYMPHOMA AND TREATMETN Premature bone density loss is associated with lymphoma, with standard treatment, and treatment-induced menopause. Research strongly suggests that bone density screen should be routine for lymphoma patients as low bone marrow density is associated with lymphoma at baseline (before treatment) and can be made worse by standard treatments.
BOWEL & BLADDER
Diarrhea is a digestive disorder that causes excessive bowel movements and loose stools. It's a condition associated with many standard cancer treatments. Acute diarrhea usually lasts a few days at most.Chronic diarrhea can last much longer and is considered more serious. Symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, urge to defecate, discomfort, and fecal incontinence. PERIPHERAL BLOOD REFERENCE RANGES Peripheral Blood: Reference Ranges Adapted from University of Washington Medical Center Prepared by Patients Against Lymphoma Reference ranges and unit measurements can vary per lab. TIPS FOR COPING WITH CHOP THERAPY a) Rinse mouth frequently. 1) 8 oz warm water and a half teaspoon of salt; or. 2) Rinse with a mixture of a teaspoon of baking soda and 8 oz water; or. 3) Get a prescription for magic mouthwash. 4) Diphenhydramine & Kaopectate (dentist RX for mouth sores) b) Ice pops or frozen Jello can be soothing.
