Unlike Ascertaining the Discipline, Śāntideva’s Compendium of Training has been preserved in Sanskrit, eg. as inputted by Mirek Rozehnal and ESSENCE OF THE KANGYUR Just before the Mahāguru Padmasambhava left for the southwestern land of Cāmara, he put this treasure into writing for the sake of Tibetans who would be unable to read aloud or ceremoniously recite the entire Kangyur, the Words of the Buddha, in these degenerate times.
