TOURISM FIGURES SHOW CONTINUED UPWARD TREND A 1.9% increase in visitor numbers – up to 35.4m. A 2.2% increase in the number of staying visitors (2.6m) – including a 2.1% increase in serviced accommodation days. The wider benefit of this growth is the 3.2% rise in jobs – to almost 35,000 in Liverpool. The economic impact in Liverpool is now £3.02bn – a rise of 5.6% in the lastyear.

LOCAL GROWTH FUND
The Local Growth Fund is the Government’s funding pot of at least £2bn a year from 2015/16 to 2020/21. Most of the funding is allocated through a competitive process. By 2021 Government will have invested over £12bn through the Local Growth Fund allowing LEPs to use their local knowledge to get all areas of the country firing on allcylinders.

The bidding process brought together a consortium of partners, including LCRCA, its constituent local authorities, the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP),ENTERPRISE ZONES
Liverpool City Region is unique in that our LEP area includes three Enterprise Zones:- Mersey Waters Liverpool City Sci-Tech Daresbury All three Enterprise Zones were identified due to their unique potential to generate economic growth for the region. A range of investment and development opportunities exist within each zone including site specific and sector related NEW COACH PARK TO MEET TOURISM BOOM BEGINS New coach park to meet tourism boom begins. Work on a new facility that will treble Liverpool’s capacity to welcome coach bound tourists is about to begin. EMPLOYMENT FIGURES RISE ACROSS CITY REGION The latest employment data published nationally yesterday showed an increase of 19,200 residents in employment across the Liverpool City Region compared to the same period last year.
