LIGHT WORK / LAB
Light Work Lab is a member-supported, community-access photography makerspace for individuals pursuing artistic projects. Our facility in Syracuse, New York has been used by artists for over 40 years and our expert staff offer printing, scanning, and retouching services to artists located around the globe. LIGHT WORK / CALL FOR ENTRIES: 2021 LIGHT WORK GRANTS IN Light Work is pleased to announce the 2021 Light Work Grants in Photography competition. Light Work began offering grants to CNY artists in 1975 to encourage the production of new photographic work in the region. Three $3,000 grants will be awarded to photographers who reside within an approximate 50-mile radius of Syracuse, N.Y. Therecipients
ARKO DATTO | LIGHT WORK Arko Datto. September 2020. Before stepping into the world of contemporary photography, Arko Datto was on course to receive a doctorate in theoretical sciences. Datto’s practice interrogates what it means to be a photographer in the digital age while simultaneously playing the observer and commentator’s role on critical issues. He pursues LIGHT WORK / URBAN VIDEO PROJECT: EXCERPT FROM TIFFANY E Light Work is pleased to present the second in a series of special posts from our affiliated program, Urban Video Project (UVP). Since the 1970s, he has created photographic compositions involving dogs, primarily his own Weimaraners, in various costumes and poses. LIGHT WORK / URBAN VIDEO PROJECT (UVP) Urban Video Project (UVP), a program of Light Work Urban Video Project (UVP), a program of Light Work in partnership with the Everson Museum of Art and Onondaga County, is an outdoor architectural projection venue dedicated to the public presentation of LIGHT WORK / LIGHT WORK GRANTS The Light Work Grants in Photography program was established in 1975 to support artists working in Central New York. The $3,000 grants are awarded to encourage the development of ongoing projects and the creation of new work.
