From today agents, landlords and their solicitors must include details of the Breathing Space scheme within documentation when seeking to gain possession, or risk the eviction being rejected. Some lettings industry figures are beginning to express doubt as to whether the government’s broad commitment to reform the private rental sector really will result in the abolition of Section 21 eviction powers for agents and landlords. The Queen’s Speech on Wednesday contained a broad commitment by the GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS RENTAL REFORM TO BE PUSHED THROUG... The government has confirmed that reform of the private rental sector will be a priority for the coming session of Parliament.
