ABOUT - WORLD KITE MUSEUM History of the World Kite Museum. The World Kite Museum and Hall of Fame has its roots in the local community. In the mid 1980’s a group of kite enthusiasts began to discuss the idea of forming a museum dedicated to kites and kite flyers. The group met informally and developed a plan of action. They researched building opportunities PHOTOS - WORLD KITE MUSEUM World Kite Museum Home of the Washington State International Kite Festival 303 Sid Snyder Drive • PO Box 964 • Long Beach, WA 98631360-642-4020

SUNDAY - WORLD KITE MUSEUM MEMORIAL FLY. 10:00 am, Field A. Please leave the names of the kite flier you wish to remember at the Operations Tent. A clipboard for that purpose will be there all week. The names will be written on a kite that will be released during the fly. This is expressly for those who have passed in the past year. WEDNESDAY - WORLD KITE MUSEUM 17th ANNUAL FOSTER GRANDPARENT FUN FLY. Glenda Kleppin, James Babst & Brian David, Event Coordinators. Kids Age 3-12. 10:00-11: 00 a.m. Field A. This event was inspired by Mariam Schaffler who made and gave away kid’s kites at every festival she attended. For many people, the first memory of flying a kite is associated with an outing with an older family member, often a grandparent.
