Check out our sister site KRL News & Reviews for even more articles every week. ------------------------- ← Previous Entries ------------------------- CAT HOUSE ON THE KINGS: KITTENS/CAT FOOD/ART FROM THE April 25 ISSUE IN THE Animal Rescue AdventuresSECTION
_BY HARVIE SCHREIBER_ If this were an ordinary year, I would be writing about The Cat House on the King’s Spring Open House which had been scheduled for April 18, before it was canceled due to the global pandemic. I would write about the beautiful weather, the myriad visitors, the dozens of vendors, our amazing silent auction, and how much money we raised to help us provide for the hundreds of senior cats, kittens, special needs cats, and injured cats in our care. _SUNSETS, SABBATICAL AND SCANDALS_ BY TONYA KAPPES: REVIEW/GIVEAWAY FROM THE April 25 ISSUEIN THE SECTION
_BY KATHLEEN COSTA_
There’s a wedding, several women are on a dating app, an old classmate hard to remember appears, the book club meeting is on, and the bank just called…life is busy! But, “Nothing is normal in Normal” when Trudy Bull, everyone’s favorite waitress, is found dead at the diner. The diner was closed and she was suppose to be at the wedding, so it’s curious why she was even there. Robbery doesn’t seem plausible since her wallet is in tact and the diner had little on site, but her phone, the one she was never without, ismissing.
THEATRE IN THE VALLEY DURING SHELTER-IN-PLACE FROM THE April 25 ISSUE IN THE Lorie Lewis HamSECTION
_BY LORIE LEWIS HAM_ This has been a difficult time for everyone. Not only are businesses closed that aren’t essential, but all events have been canceled as well. Many of those events have found creative ways to happen virtually, providing mostly free entertainment for those of us stuck in our homes. Community theatre has been hit particularly hard, canceling their shows has not only been disappointing for everyone, but they also don’t have those ticket sales coming in to help paythe bills.
_DEATH ON THE PAGE_ BY ESSIE LANG: REVIEW/GIVEAWAY/INTERVIEW FROM THE April 25 ISSUEIN THE Cynthia Chow

_BY CYNTHIA CHOW_
Now that Shelby Cox is co-owner of Bayside Books and running the branch operated on Blye Island’s Blye Castle, she is eagerly anticipating the promotional book-signing event by bestselling True Crime author Savannah Page. Savannah has chosen the site just off of Alexandria Bay, New York, to further her research for her next book, the murder of a rumored Mafia mobster during the days of Prohibition. Savannah even plans to stay overnight in the Castle as its first trial-run guest, wallowing in the atmosphere and hopefully catching a glimpse of the mobster’s legendary ghost. GREAT FOOD SEARCH: IT CAME FROM MY KITCHEN PART 2 FROM THE April 25 ISSUE IN THE Terrance V. Mc ArthurSECTION
_BY TERRANCE MCARTHUR_ I’m sheltering in place…sort-of. I went back to work for three days at the beginning of April, but I decided to take four weeks of leave (I have plenty of hours). I thought I could be productive during my time off, but…I have cooked. Let me tell you about the latest dishes to come out of Casa de Mc Arthur…. COMING ATTRACTIONS: MAY DAY EDITION FROM THE April 25 ISSUE IN THE Mysteryrat's MazeSECTION
_BY SUNNY FRAZIER_
Being Coronavirus stuck at home is a good time to start a new series. Check out three I’ve discovered. And, what better way to keep calm than the purr of a kitten (even if one is a witch’s familiar). REEDLEY FIREFIGHTER RYAN RODRIGUEZ: IT IS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY ANDPEOPLE WE SERVE

_SMOKE BITTEN_ BY PATRICIA BRIGGS: REVIEW/GIVEAWAY FROM THE April 25 ISSUE IN THE Fantasy & FangsSECTION
_BY TERRANCE MC ARTHUR_ You may think it’s a jackrabbit, or someone you know, but…. If it bites you, the puncture wound begins to smoke. It takes over your body and your life. It uses you to kill to gain strength and power. When there is no more use for you, it tosses your body aside and turnsinto smoke.

_BY DOROTHY MCFALLS_ I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling stressed. The uncertainty of the quarantine, worrying about doing a good job homeschooling my daughter who is in first grade, and wondering how I should dress to buy food has put me in such a tizzy that it’s become nearly impossible for me to write. And writing is not only my full-time job,it’s my vocation.

_BY JACKIE DALE_
The month started out pretty brisk, rescue-wise. Until two weeks ago when our rescue had to cut us off until the Covid-19 crises is resolved. We made it in with the final transport by the skin of our teeth. The person we deal with had to literally beg the powers-that-be, to allow us to bring in the last batch of cats. They were out of cats and people were calling for cats, so they said “Ok” to the one last run. ← Previous Entries*
