Established 1989 by Chef Peter Fang and wife Lily Fang. Together they turned House of Nanking into a wildly popular restaurant in Chinatown San Francisco, drawing lines for the last 28 years around the block as well as served a long list of celebrities, athletes, and notable chefsfrom all over. The
BEST DIY KOREAN SHORT-RIBS Method for Shortribs. 1. Put all the ingredients for the marinade in a blender and blend. 2. Pour the marinade over the shortribs and let it marinate over night. 3. Before cooking, remove shortribs from fridge 30 minutes prior. 4. Heat your skillet to high heat and add 1 EASY MASHED POTATOES WITH A TWIST Method: 1. Boil potato and let it rest when it’s done, draining all the water. 2. Now mash it up. 3. In a separate pan, heat the white portion of the green onions and some of the green parts along with garlic slices. 4. Let it simmer on low- medium heat until the oil absorbs the flavor and it’s aromatic. SPINACH SPAGHETTI WITH LOBSTER AND SPICY SALMON TOMATO In a large nonstick pan add 1 tsp olive oil and add your garlic, a tablespoon of minced parsley and tomato sauce to it. 6. Add your lobster to the sauce and cook for 2 minutes and coat the lobster in the sauce on high heat. 7. Remove the lobster and set aside. 8. Now add your capers, salmon, olives, parsley, oregano and let it cook for3 minutes.

He was treading in very unfamiliar territory and the stakes were high. Azurmendi is a 3 Michelin Star Restaurant located in the Basque Region. It's located in Larrabetzu, which is about a 10 minute drive from Bilbao. CHINESE BREAKFAST SUSHI ROLLS Yes you read that right, the title does in deed say "Chinese Breakfast Sushi Rolls" For those of you who have never seen or heard of this, allow me to explain to you, this interesting meal our parents or grandparents use to make for us Chinese kids. Most of the time Chinesekids who grew u
LOW CARB TOFU KALE TACOS Tacos are one of those comfort meals that you can’t seem to ever give up. It’s flavorful, easy to eat and comforting. But the traditional kind isn’t exactly waist friendly. But fret not, this version is totally waist friendly and delicious at the same time. It kind sounds too good to be true right? TAIWANESE BREAKFAST WRAP AKA "DAN BING" WITH A TWIST handful of sliced cucumbers. Method: 1. Heat a non-stick pan with a touch of avocado oil or your choice of oil. 2. Place your tortilla on the pan and move the tortilla in circles to sop up that little bit of oil. 3. Keep heat on high and crack the egg directly on top of the tortilla. Use a spatula and gently break the yolk and spread the egg FRAGRANT LIME SCENTED PORK CHOPS W/ CARB FREE YAKISOBA Pour ¼ cup of the remaining marinade into the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes and add your noodles to the skillet and stir fry. Add the cabbage, 2 tablespoon soy, and lime juice. 10. Stir fry until the cabbage wilts and add your black pepper. 11. Hi Everyone! I realize it’s been a long while since I posted on my website. During my 2 year hiatus, I’ve been busy with a few new additions to my life and career. Which left me minimal time to work on blogging. In the past 2 years, I’ve welcomed to two babies in my life which has been a huge but w AZURMENDI RESTAURANT, A 3 MICHELIN STAR GEM! Azurmendi is a 3 Michelin Star Restaurant located in the Basque Region. It's located in Larrabetzu, which is about a 10 minute drive from Bilbao. If you plan to visit Bilbao, it's a quick drive from there to Azurmendi. I however was not staying in Bilbao this time around. I stayed in San Sebastian, EASY MASHED POTATOES WITH A TWIST Method: 1. Boil potato and let it rest when it’s done, draining all the water. 2. Now mash it up. 3. In a separate pan, heat the white portion of the green onions and some of the green parts along with garlic slices. 4. Let it simmer on low- medium heat until the oil absorbs the flavor and it’s aromatic. A DAY TRIP TO ST GILGEN, AUSTRIA The benefit of staying where we stayed is the relatively easy access we have to other nearby towns and cities surrounding the various lakes. St Gilgen which is 30 minutes away by car is a cute little town that makes Salzburg look like a major city. St Gilgen also happens to be the birthplace of Moza THE PERFECT PROPOSAL FOR A FOODIE As a chef and foodie, my husband knew he had to do something related to food for our proposal. It was a huge undertaking for him as he himself is not a major foodie. He was treading in very unfamiliar territory and the stakes were high. But he managed to SPINACH SPAGHETTI WITH LOBSTER AND SPICY SALMON TOMATO In a large nonstick pan add 1 tsp olive oil and add your garlic, a tablespoon of minced parsley and tomato sauce to it. 6. Add your lobster to the sauce and cook for 2 minutes and coat the lobster in the sauce on high heat. 7. Remove the lobster and set aside. 8. Now add your capers, salmon, olives, parsley, oregano and let it cook for3 minutes.

Put all the ingredients for the marinade in a blender and blend. 2. Pour the marinade over the shortribs and let it marinate over night. 3. Before cooking, remove shortribs from fridge 30 minutes prior. 4. LOW CARB TOFU KALE TACOS Tacos are one of those comfort meals that you can’t seem to ever give up. It’s flavorful, easy to eat and comforting. But the traditional kind isn’t exactly waist friendly. But fret not, this version is totally waist friendly and delicious at the same time. It kind sounds too good to be true right? TAIWANESE BREAKFAST WRAP AKA "DAN BING" WITH A TWIST handful of sliced cucumbers. Method: 1. Heat a non-stick pan with a touch of avocado oil or your choice of oil. 2. Place your tortilla on the pan and move the tortilla in circles to sop up that little bit of oil. 3. Keep heat on high and crack the egg directly on top of the tortilla. Use a spatula and gently break the yolk and spread the egg FRAGRANT LIME SCENTED PORK CHOPS W/ CARB FREE YAKISOBA Pour ¼ cup of the remaining marinade into the skillet. Cook for 2 minutes and add your noodles to the skillet and stir fry. Add the cabbage, 2 tablespoon soy, and lime juice. 10. Stir fry until the cabbage wilts and add your black pepper. 11. Kathy Fang is chef and co-owner of Fang, a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco offering a fresh take on dishes influenced by both Northern and Southern China’s cuisine. She is also the author of the popular, multifaceted food blog MyFangalicious.com . The daughter of famed House of Nanking chef/owner Peter Fang, Ms. Fang has emerged from her renowned culinary family to enliven San Francisco’s food scene with her own cuisine at Fang Restaurant located in the city’s South of Market (SOMA) neighborhood. The Fang legacy began in 1988 when Peter Fang opened HONK, a beloved North Beach restaurant serving home-style Cantonese cuisine in a lively, no-nonsense atmosphere. The younger Fang discovered her own passion for cooking as she was growing up in the kitchen of HONK and that of her grandmother’s restaurant just steps away. At a young age, she precociously began creating her own dishes and exploring her culinary interests that eventually propelled her career as a chef. Chef Fang left San Francisco as a young adult to pursue a business career, and earned a degree from the University of Southern California where she studied operations management and entrepreneurship. After graduating, she held positions at Merrill Lynch and Johnson & Johnson. In 2006, having never let go of her passion for cooking and childhood food experiences, she enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School Los Angeles. Chef Fang has blended her family’s Cantonese heritage and cooking style with her own inspiration drawn from all her travels, to create the sophisticated, multicultural cuisine of Fang Restaurant which she opened in partnership with her father in 2009. There, Kathy has created a menu equally loyal to tradition and innovation. Chef Fang is passionate about teaching others in order to share the satisfaction she gains from creating dishes to enjoy with family and friends.
