THE XF70-300MM F/4-5.6R LM OIS WR The build quality of the XF70-300mm F/4-5.6 is just like all the other XF lenses before it. Great, sturdy build, with metal barrel and metal mount. The barrel extends while zooming. The aperture ring is unmarked, which makes good sense since it has variable aperture throughout the zoom range. WHEN WAITING IS WORTH IT! The XF18mm f/1.4 R WR REALLY feels at home on the X-Pro1-2-3 bodies. On this particular series of camera bodies it feels just right. Not at all front heavy. The lens has a front filter thread of 62mm, it weighs 370g and measures 68.8mm in width and 75.6mm in length. Not too bad for a large aperture wideangle prime. THE LAOWA 65MM F/2.8 2X ULTRA MACRO APO REVIEW Like all Laowa lenses, the Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO has a very nice build quality. The barrel and mount is all metal. It has very nice ridged focusring and the focus runs very very smooth. A full focus throw from 2x macro to infinity is about a 270 degree turn. Pretty nice to work with.ANOTHER FAST FIFTY?

The X100V is the fifth iteration of the X100 series, and it is perhaps the biggest upgrade to the series since the launch of the initial camera. For the first time since the original launch we have a new lens, weather sealingMINOLTA X FUJIFILM
GFX50s – Rokkor MC 55mm f/1.7 @f/1.7 – No Crop – Full +100 vignette correction. Image Quality. Well, this is a tough one to describe, but of course there are differences between the lenses. they all have different characteristics that are either augmented or diminished on the Medium Format digital sensor of the GFX50s. MITAKON 65MM F/1.4 FOR GFX REVIEW What has had the majority of the GFX community really interested is the fact that this is a proper fast aperture lens for the GFX system. With a field of view similar to that of a 50 mm lens on a full frame camera, as well as an aperture equivalent of f/1.1, this lens combined with the GFX medium format sensor, is probably the closest you’re going to get to the look of the old 6×7 Pentax FUJIFILM X-E3 REVIEW It's been a long time coming. The third iteration of Fujifilms X-E line of X-series camera. Built in a rangefinder "brick" styling, but without the OVF of the X-Pro line, the X-E3 is to its bigger brother X-Pro2, what the X-T20 is to the X-T2. As always, the wishlist for features in a new fujifilm REACH OUT! – FUJIFILM 2X TELE CONVERTER TC WR MINI-REVIEW The 2x teleconverter will give incredible reach, while maintaining decent sharpness. The compression of the scene is insane, and it makes for great scenic images when used for landscape photography. Below you can find mixed sample shots. All shots taken with the X-Pro2 and the Tele Converter XF 2X TC WR and either the XF50-140mm or the XF100 FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF THE FUJINON 18-55MM F/2.8-4R OIS WITH This is a first for me and for this blog. A small review of the Fujinon 18-55mm f/2.8-4R OIS I really don't plan on making this a habit since there are tons of other sites out there that does it so much better than I would ever do. However I feel that I can contributewith

FUJIFILM X-T4 FIRST LOOK PREVIEW – CLOSER TO TECHNICAL BLISS. In what has become the most busy “review/preview” winter I’ve ever had, the time has now come to look at the brand new Fujifilm X-T4. Fujifilm has been on a serious releasing spree this winter, and since writing my mammoth run-through of the X-Pro3 which I was very close to the development of, they haveRead more

FUJIFILM X100V FIRST LOOK PREVIEW – THE DESERT ISLAND CAMERA In what seems like a never-ending spree of new releases from Fujifilm this winter-season, today they announced the newest iteration of the iconic and beloved X100 series, The X100V I still remember that day back in 2011. THE LAOWA 65MM F/2.8 2X ULTRA MACRO APO REVIEW Today Laowa released their newest offering for mirrorless camera systems. The Laowa 65mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO. I was so fortunate to be sent a copy late November 2019 to test out a bit and give my thoughts on. Now, I’m NOT a macro photographer. I don’t do that kind of photography much. IRead more

FUJIFILM XC 35MM F/2 FIRST LOOK PREVIEW First of all happy new year! I took a well deserved break from blogging since my review on the 7artisans 35mm f/1.2 back in late November of 2019. But this is a new decade, and behold – the first gear writeup of the new century on my blog is yet again a 35mm lenswriteup.

THE X-PRO2 DROPPED FROM MY MOVING CAR – AND STILL WORKS! I dropped my X-Pro2 today! I always get asked why my cameras are so pristine, whenever people see them in my gearshots. Well, obviously when I shoot for Fujifilm, I use brand new cameras, and whenever I have to do “generation shots” I have a dedicated stock from them with samples that are only usedRead more

THE 7ARTISANS 35MM F/1.2 REVIEW Hey! So it’s been a long time since I did a little writeup on anything other than Fujifilm gear, but that is about to change! Last month saw the launch of the Fujifilm X-Pro3, which I had been very much involved in, and as a result I have been insanely busy doing allsorts of

X-PRO3 – VINTAGE’D As has become customary on this site of mine, I always end up writing a little about using vintage lenses on the newly released Fujifilm gear. With the release of the X-Pro3, this is no different! – In fact with the X-Pro3 I feel that it’s more relevant than ever since Fujifilm put some niceRead more

AESTHETICS IS CONTAGIOUS In addition to my yearlong involvement with the X-Pro3 project which you can read about in my 5200+ word run-through HERE , I was given a chance to do a video on my photography. Obviously centered around the X-Pro3, I really tried to do a video that was more about a part of myphotography than

LAOWA 17MM F/4 GFX REVIEW In March 2018 I reviewed the Laowa C-Dreamer 9mm f/2.8 for the Fujifilm X system. If you havn’t already, then you can read about it HERE. A lot of things have happened since then in Fujifilm land, especially in the GFX department. The widest lens available natively by Fujifilm is the amazing 23mm f/4 whichRead more

FUJINON XF 16-80MM F/4 R OIS WR FIRST LOOK PREVIEW Fujifilm didn’t just release the GF50mm f/3.5 today which I wrote about HERE, they also released a little something for the X-series. I remember back in may 2018 when I took the X-T100 with me to Crete to do the whole brochure imagery for Fujifilm. They had a wishlist of very specific lenses that theyRead more

FUJINON GF 50MM F/3.5 FIRST LOOK PREVIEW This is not a review. Well, actually it is. It’s the same as it has always been, but as someone in an internet forum recently made me aware, “A hotel staff member can’t review the hotel he works for”. I have never hid the fact that I was deeply involved with Fujifilm, nor that myRead more
