REPUBLICAN CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY Republican Crimes Against Humanity. December 17, 2020. February 2, 2021. / John Pavlovitz. That perspective makes the collective tragedy we have experienced inevitable, but it was not.JOHN PAVLOVITZ
Words can do incredible damage, but sometimes they can’t hold a candle to silence. Often it is those words that have been withheld which leave the greatest scars upon us. It is in that terrible absence that we are dealt the harshest blow by those who claim to love us.JOHN PAVLOVITZ

Let’s be honest here: our President is not a well man. To most objective observers this isn’t really up for debate anymore. His frenetic impulsiveness, his propensity toward violent outbursts, his elementary school vocabulary, his nonsensical Twitter rants, his allergic reaction to the truth, his public bullying of judges and FBIstaff.

Not terrified of God, per se (because I figured God being God and all, was more than big enough to handle my assorted queries), I was terrified of the people of God.. Like many Christians, I found myself within a spiritual communityJOHN PAVLOVITZ

IT SHOULDN’T TAKE A DISASTER FOR US TO RECOGNIZE A DISASTER March 19, 2020March 19, 2020/ John Pavlovitz
Last night I was having a Face Time conversation with a friend. In our sleeplessness and anxiety we were debriefing the last few simply unfathomable days: the alarming acceleration of the virus, the shocking waves of cancellations and shutdowns, the wholesale closing of public school systems, the terrifying sight of empty grocery store shelves, the dominoes of travel restrictions and airport chaos, the daily national financial collapses, the business closings, the job losses, the complete panic seeping into every crevice of our nation, the strange isolation of people physically separated from one another, the endless, sprawling pathways of thought leading to so many future unknowns. At one moment, my friend paused and said with relief, “Well, the only bright spot is, maybe Trump is finally going to be gone. Maybe seeing him completely fail and be exposed in this pandemic is enough for some people to turn on him.”My first response was to agree with him—but then I just felt my blood boiling and I grew furious. This? This is what it’s going to take for people to finally sever their vise-grip allegiance, this is what is necessary to shake them out of their three-year cultic stupor: a rapidly metastasizing pandemic and a quarantined population and thousands of infections and abject terror and looming recession and loss of life and loss of jobs and a country that may be irrevocably damaged—and his lying, gaslighting, reckless, bumbling incompetence? It needed to come to this for millions of people to even begin to wake up?Not election fraud, not a cadre of white supremacists and criminals in the White House, not a brazen nepotism polluting the Administration with his family, not a nonstop stream of toxic tweet sewage and, not a relentless, never-ending litany of smirking half-truths and straight-faced lies. not the silencing of protesting athletes, not the callous indifference to mass shootings, not families separated at the border, not children caged like animals, not the rising hate crimes, not the vile nicknames, not the rollback of environmental protections, not endless assaults on health care or the poor or the sick. Those things weren’t enough for their holy discontent to rise up, for the red, white and blue scales to fall from their eyes and for them to see clearly who he is and how much damage he’s inflicted. What does it say about the collective morality of people, for whom everything up until complete national economic collapse and pervasive illness is acceptable? How can it be, that only this historic mishandling of a national disaster could become the bridge too far? Honestly, I’m not certain that even this will be enough to move their sycophantic hearts to the place where they can admit how terrible a decision aligning with him was, but even if it is—I grieve that the only thing that was capable of waking them up, was something so painful and deadly and destructive to so many people. I mourn the reality, that the pain of others (of migrants and working mothers and Muslim families and transgender teenagers and exhausted refugees and black activists) was never enough to trigger their outrage—it was only when the suffering got too close to home, that they began to give a damn.So this November, even if he is removed because a small portion of them finally rejected him and we can begin to rebuild from the rubble that will be left, I’m not going to celebrate, because it will have come with such a heavy price. I’m not going to rejoice knowing how malignant and invasive suffering needs to be before it tips the scales within them.We should never have been here in the first place. This many people should never have chosen him. This many people shouldn’t have fought for him. This many people shouldn’t have dug in their heels for him.It should have never come to this moment, when his lies and ineptitude and fraudulence leveled us.It should never have taken a disaster to remove a disaster. That’s the kind of America we’re going to have to live in moving forward. Share this:FacebookTwitterPinterest3RedditPrintEmailLike this:Like Loading..."> LAST NIGHT I WAS HAVING A FACE TIME CONVERSATION WITH A FRIEND. IN OUR SLEEPLESSNESS AND ANXIETY WE WERE DEBRIEFING THE LAST FEW SIMPLY UNFATHOMABLE DAYS: THE ALARMING ACCELERATION OF THE VIRUS, THE SHOCKING WAVES OF CANCELLATIONS AND SHUTDOWNS, THE WHOLESALE CLOSING OF PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEMS, THE TERRIFYING SIGHT OF EMPTY GROCERY STORE SHELVES, THE DOMINOES OF TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS AND AIRPORT CHAOS, THE DAILY NATIONAL FINANCIAL COLLAPSES, THE BUSINESS CLOSINGS, THE JOBLOSSES,
THE COMPLETE PANIC SEEPING INTO EVERY CREVICE OF OUR NATION, THE STRANGE ISOLATION OF PEOPLE PHYSICALLY SEPARATED FROM ONE ANOTHER, THE ENDLESS, SPRAWLING PATHWAYS OF THOUGHT LEADING TO SO MANY FUTUREUNKNOWNS.
AT ONE MOMENT, MY FRIEND PAUSED AND SAID WITH RELIEF, “WELL, THE ONLY BRIGHT SPOT IS, MAYBE TRUMP IS FINALLY GOING TO BE GONE. MAYBE SEEING HIM COMPLETELY FAIL AND BE EXPOSED IN THIS PANDEMIC IS ENOUGH FOR SOME PEOPLE TO TURN ON HIM.” MY FIRST RESPONSE WAS TO AGREE WITH HIM—BUT THEN I JUST FELT MY BLOOD BOILING AND I GREW FURIOUS.THIS?
IT NEEDED TO COME TO_ THIS_ FOR MILLIONS OF PEOPLE TO EVEN BEGIN TOWAKE UP?
NOT ELECTION FRAUD,
NOT A CADRE OF WHITE SUPREMACISTS AND CRIMINALS IN THE WHITE HOUSE, NOT A BRAZEN NEPOTISM POLLUTING THE ADMINISTRATION WITH HIS FAMILY, NOT A NONSTOP STREAM OF TOXIC TWEET SEWAGE AND, NOT A RELENTLESS, NEVER-ENDING LITANY OF SMIRKING HALF-TRUTHS AND STRAIGHT-FACED LIES. I MOURN THE REALITY, THAT THE PAIN OF _OTHERS_ (OF MIGRANTS AND WORKING MOTHERS AND MUSLIM FAMILIES AND TRANSGENDER TEENAGERS AND EXHAUSTED REFUGEES AND BLACK ACTIVISTS) WAS NEVER ENOUGH TO TRIGGER THEIR OUTRAGE—IT WAS ONLY WHEN THE SUFFERING GOT TOO CLOSE TO HOME, THAT THEY BEGAN TO GIVE A DAMN. SO THIS NOVEMBER, EVEN IF HE IS REMOVED BECAUSE A SMALL PORTION OF THEM FINALLY REJECTED HIM AND WE CAN BEGIN TO REBUILD FROM THE RUBBLE THAT WILL BE LEFT, I’M NOT GOING TO CELEBRATE, BECAUSE IT WILL HAVE COME WITH SUCH A HEAVY PRICE. I’M NOT GOING TO REJOICE KNOWING HOW MALIGNANT AND INVASIVE SUFFERING NEEDS TO BE BEFORE IT TIPS THE SCALESWITHIN THEM.
WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN HERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. THIS MANY PEOPLE SHOULD NEVER HAVE CHOSEN HIM. THIS MANY PEOPLE SHOULDN’T HAVE FOUGHT FOR HIM. THIS MANY PEOPLE SHOULDN’T HAVE DUG IN THEIR HEELS FOR HIM. IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER COME TO THIS MOMENT, WHEN HIS LIES AND INEPTITUDE AND FRAUDULENCE LEVELED US. IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE TAKEN A DISASTER TO REMOVE A DISASTER. THAT’S THE KIND OF AMERICA WE’RE GOING TO HAVE TO LIVE IN MOVINGFORWARD.

ARE YOU UNDERSTANDING MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES NOW, CONSERVATIVE AMERICA? March 16, 2020March 17, 2020/ John Pavlovitz
Are you getting it now, Conservative American friends? Are you understanding them any better? Are you connecting the dots at all between you both? Can you see the lengths decent human beings will go to in order to protect the people they love: when threat comes, when terror overtakes them, when unprecedented crisis visits? For the past couple of years, I’ve listened to you pile scorn upon migrants and refugees and undocumented people: for breaching borders, concealing themselves in freight cars, carrying their children through sun-scorched desert, climbing into homemade rafts and braving fierce oceans, for living hidden in plain sight.I’ve heard your endless waves of sanctimony and self-righteousness; the way you wagged your fingers, turned up your noses, and sermonized with great indignation about their lawlessness and recklessness—certain you’d never resort to such measures, so sure you were morally superior. It was easy to judge them from where you sat well-cradled in comfort. From that soft, insulated place of ease and security, you couldn’t imagine finding yourself standing where they have been standing for much of their lives: that place where fear is your default setting, where chaos is your daily bread, where survival becomes your only driver.Look at you:It’s only been a couple of days of relative inconvenience, and I’ve watched you coming undone: fighting with strangers in an attempt to store up a year’s worth of toilet paper and bottled water, hyperventilating as the impact of the loss of income begins to register, posting social media tirades about the scarcity and isolation you feel overwhelmed by. Fear is hell, isn’t it? Desperation makes you do things you never thought yourself capable of, doesn’t it? You can begin to sink beneath the weight of the fears of the unknown and the urgency you’re immersed in and the swirling tumult of questions—and you just want to be safe, you just want to shield the people you love, you just want to live. This is after just one weekend. Play this movie out:Can you imagine if this drags on for months or years, if supplies become more scarce, if your money runs out, if greater numbers die, if you can’t run out to a store three minutes away and overbuy whatever you want, if your options begin to dwindle? What might you be capable of doing then? Just how far could you imagine yourself going? What happens if the stores run out of essentials for good? What if you run out of money to stockpile them? What if your neighbors stop sharing with you? What if the government won’t help you? What if a nearby nation was the only place that felt safe? What might you do then? And if you can imagine yourself doing something desperate, something that would be unthinkable to your current self—then imagine someone else, with no such worries and no such fears, receiving you, not with empathy but disdain. Imagine them piling scorn about you and questioning your morality, your parenting, your intentions. Imagine people with the wherewithal to help you—giving you a middle finger rejection and turning you away. I wonder this week as you empty shelves and fight with strangers, and as you push back the encroaching terrors, if you’ve generated any empathy for people who cross a border or scale a wall or conceal their identities—because they’ve felt that kind of desperation every damn second of every waking day for as long as they can remember.Maybe it’s really easy in abundance to judge those in life-threatening lack. Maybe in the privilege of opulence it’s difficult to imagine true poverty. Maybe only after you feel yourself fully submerged in the flood of fear, can you understand what people will do, not to drown.I hope compassion is rising up in you in these days, that understanding is taking hold in your heart, and that you are realizing the truth: that every human being is trying to survive—and we should help one another, whenever we can, because we’re all a hair’s breadth from the edge. FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS, I’VE LISTENED TO YOU PILE SCORN UPON MIGRANTS AND REFUGEES AND UNDOCUMENTED PEOPLE: FOR BREACHING BORDERS, CONCEALING THEMSELVES IN FREIGHT CARS, CARRYING THEIR CHILDREN THROUGH SUN-SCORCHED DESERT, CLIMBING INTO HOMEMADE RAFTS AND BRAVING FIERCE OCEANS, FOR LIVING HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT. I’VE HEARD YOUR ENDLESS WAVES OF SANCTIMONY AND SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS; THE WAY YOU WAGGED YOUR FINGERS, TURNED UP YOUR NOSES, AND SERMONIZED WITH GREAT INDIGNATION ABOUT THEIR LAWLESSNESS AND RECKLESSNESS—CERTAIN YOU’D NEVER RESORT TO SUCH MEASURES, SO SURE YOU WERE MORALLY SUPERIOR. IMAGINE THEM PILING SCORN ABOUT _YOU_ AND QUESTIONING _YOUR_ MORALITY, _YOUR_ PARENTING, _YOUR_ INTENTIONS. IMAGINE PEOPLE WITH THE WHEREWITHAL TO HELP YOU—GIVING YOU A MIDDLE FINGER REJECTION AND TURNING YOU AWAY. I WONDER THIS WEEK AS YOU EMPTY SHELVES AND FIGHT WITH STRANGERS, AND AS YOU PUSH BACK THE ENCROACHING TERRORS, IF YOU’VE GENERATED ANY EMPATHY FOR PEOPLE WHO CROSS A BORDER OR SCALE A WALL OR CONCEAL THEIR IDENTITIES—BECAUSE THEY’VE FELT THAT KIND OF DESPERATION EVERY DAMN SECOND OF EVERY WAKING DAY FOR AS LONG AS THEY CAN REMEMBER. MAYBE IT’S REALLY EASY IN ABUNDANCE TO JUDGE THOSE IN LIFE-THREATENING LACK. MAYBE IN THE PRIVILEGE OF OPULENCE IT’S DIFFICULT TO IMAGINE TRUEPOVERTY.

WE CAN BE OUR BEST SELVES RIGHT NOW, AMERICA March 13, 2020March 17, 2020/ John Pavlovitz
Growing up Christian, I remember reading about Jesus’s disciple John the Baptist, saying to those who would follow him in the ways of compassion and mercy and love and justice,“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”I thought about that yesterday as I watched a middle-aged woman with a shopping cart piled to overflowing with toilet paper, unwilling to give a single roll to another mom who was literally pleading with her for it. I won’t assume the woman with the massive, teetering bathroom tissue stockpile was a professed follower of Jesus, but I imagine many supposed people of faith in America are similarly losing their religion right now. Millions of human beings, who a couple of weeks ago were rolling their eyes and crying “hoax,” are presently body-checking strangers for wet wipes and searching for Purell on the dark web. Lots of self-identified Jesus followers are finding their faith stretched to its limits, as they have to put their money where their behinds are. It’s one thing to stand in a building on a Sunday when all feels well with your soul, and say you believe in loving your neighbor as yourself—and another completely when you’re in the middle of a crowded, panic-stricken big box store aisle and your neighbor doesn’t want their kids to have to wipe themselves with leaves and cocktail napkins. That’s when the real you shows up. That’s when Jesus takes the wheel or leaves the building.Fear is helpful. It’s clarifying. It’s illuminating. Whether we claim a religious worldview at all—fear burns up what we say we believe and reveals what we actually believe: about protection and sustenance and security and generosity and abundance and community. Fear shouts our convictions with bullhorn force, and people see us as we really are; all the pretense falls and the veneers crumble and the costumes dissolve.Fear, the unprecedented, scalding, paralyzing kind that we’ve all been immersed in the past few days, is also a beautiful invitation: to step into the swirling chaos and be the best kind of humans we’re capable of being, the people we aspire to be, the nation the songs declare we are, the America we imagine in our heads. We need to be these people, this nation, that America needs now more than ever. When scarcity makes selfishness rise up, we can rise above it with generosity. When separation feels safer, we can lean harder into community. When conspiracy and untruth come to stoke the fires of panic, we can bring the cool water of fact and truth. When our knee-jerk response is to hoard for our own, we can remember that we are in this together; that we are our brother’s keeper, that we all belong to one another. When people around us are battered by the turbulence of uncertainty, we can steady them with our quiet, sober presence. If we pay attention, terrifying crises can remind us of our commonalities; of the fears and worries that assail all of us, regardless of the buffers we have or try to put in place; fears of not having enough or losing everything or dying alone.Days like these can remind us of our oneness—that we are a single, interdependent community that transcends national border, political affiliation, religious tradition, sexual orientation, nation of origin, or any delineation we see or create between people.I hope the woman with the overflowing shopping cart found enough compassion to give two rolls of her ninety-six to her neighbor in need—because the act will have helped both of them. It will have lessened the burden for the stranger, and it will have allowed her to remember that better self she has access to—that we all have access to.These are untenable, terrifying, fearful times, and though they likely won’t destroy us, they will surely define us: in grocery store aisles and our neighborhoods and online and in our living rooms.Who do you want to be in these moments?See, give, help, share, love, and live the answer.Let’s make humanity go viral. Share this:FacebookTwitterPinterest7RedditPrintEmailLike this:LikeLoading...">
GROWING UP CHRISTIAN, I REMEMBER READING ABOUT JESUS’S DISCIPLE JOHN THE BAPTIST, SAYING TO THOSE WHO WOULD FOLLOW HIM IN THE WAYS OF COMPASSION AND MERCY AND LOVE AND JUSTICE, “ANYONE WHO HAS TWO SHIRTS SHOULD SHARE WITH THE ONE WHO HAS NONE, AND ANYONE WHO HAS FOOD SHOULD DO THE SAME.” I THOUGHT ABOUT THAT YESTERDAY AS I WATCHED A MIDDLE-AGED WOMAN WITH A SHOPPING CART PILED TO OVERFLOWING WITH TOILET PAPER, UNWILLING TO GIVE A SINGLE ROLL TO ANOTHER MOM WHO WAS LITERALLY PLEADING WITH HER FOR IT. LOTS OF SELF-IDENTIFIED JESUS FOLLOWERS ARE FINDING THEIR FAITH STRETCHED TO ITS LIMITS, AS THEY HAVE TO PUT THEIR MONEY WHERETHEIR BEHINDS ARE.
WHETHER WE CLAIM A RELIGIOUS WORLDVIEW AT ALL—FEAR BURNS UP WHAT WE _SAY_ WE BELIEVE AND REVEALS WHAT WE _ACTUALLY_ BELIEVE: ABOUT PROTECTION AND SUSTENANCE AND SECURITY AND GENEROSITY AND ABUNDANCEAND COMMUNITY.
FEAR SHOUTS OUR CONVICTIONS WITH BULLHORN FORCE, AND PEOPLE SEE US AS WE REALLY ARE; ALL THE PRETENSE FALLS AND THE VENEERS CRUMBLE AND THECOSTUMES DISSOLVE.
FEAR, THE UNPRECEDENTED, SCALDING, PARALYZING KIND THAT WE’VE ALL BEEN IMMERSED IN THE PAST FEW DAYS, IS ALSO A BEAUTIFUL INVITATION: TO STEP INTO THE SWIRLING CHAOS AND BE THE BEST KIND OF HUMANS WE’RE CAPABLE OF BEING, THE PEOPLE WE ASPIRE TO BE, THE NATION THE SONGS DECLARE WE ARE, THE AMERICA WE IMAGINE IN OUR HEADS. WE NEED TO BE THESE PEOPLE, THIS NATION, THAT AMERICA NEEDS NOW MORETHAN EVER.
WHEN SCARCITY MAKES SELFISHNESS RISE UP, WE CAN RISE ABOVE IT WITHGENEROSITY.
WHEN SEPARATION FEELS SAFER, WE CAN LEAN HARDER INTO COMMUNITY. WHEN CONSPIRACY AND UNTRUTH COME TO STOKE THE FIRES OF PANIC, WE CAN BRING THE COOL WATER OF FACT AND TRUTH. WHEN OUR KNEE-JERK RESPONSE IS TO HOARD FOR _OUR OWN_, WE CAN REMEMBER THAT WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER; THAT WE ARE OUR BROTHER’S KEEPER, THAT WE ALL BELONG TO ONE ANOTHER. WHEN PEOPLE AROUND US ARE BATTERED BY THE TURBULENCE OF UNCERTAINTY, WE CAN STEADY THEM WITH OUR QUIET, SOBER PRESENCE. IF WE PAY ATTENTION, TERRIFYING CRISES CAN REMIND US OF OUR COMMONALITIES; OF THE FEARS AND WORRIES THAT ASSAIL ALL OF US, REGARDLESS OF THE BUFFERS WE HAVE OR TRY TO PUT IN PLACE; FEARS OF NOT HAVING ENOUGH OR LOSING EVERYTHING OR DYING ALONE. DAYS LIKE THESE CAN REMIND US OF OUR ONENESS—THAT WE ARE A SINGLE, INTERDEPENDENT COMMUNITY THAT TRANSCENDS NATIONAL BORDER, POLITICAL AFFILIATION, RELIGIOUS TRADITION, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, NATION OF ORIGIN, OR ANY DELINEATION WE SEE OR CREATE BETWEEN PEOPLE. I HOPE THE WOMAN WITH THE OVERFLOWING SHOPPING CART FOUND ENOUGH COMPASSION TO GIVE TWO ROLLS OF HER NINETY-SIX TO HER NEIGHBOR IN NEED—BECAUSE THE ACT WILL HAVE HELPED BOTH OF THEM. IT WILL HAVE LESSENED THE BURDEN FOR THE STRANGER, AND IT WILL HAVE ALLOWED HER TO REMEMBER THAT BETTER SELF SHE HAS ACCESS TO—THAT WE ALL HAVE ACCESSTO.
THESE ARE UNTENABLE, TERRIFYING, FEARFUL TIMES, AND THOUGH THEY LIKELY WON’T DESTROY US, THEY WILL SURELY DEFINE US: IN GROCERY STORE AISLES AND OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND ONLINE AND IN OUR LIVING ROOMS. WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE IN THESE MOMENTS? SEE, GIVE, HELP, SHARE, LOVE, AND LIVE THE ANSWER. LET’S MAKE HUMANITY GO VIRAL.SHARE THIS:

THE BILL FOR MAGA IS DUE March 12, 2020March 13, 2020/
John Pavlovitz
The bill for MAGA has come due, Trump supporters. It’s time to pay up.The deferred invoice for you selling your souls is here. It’s time to pay for every incendiary campaign boast you cheered, every factless diatribe you vigorously applauded, every nonsensical middle-of-the-night tweet you boosted, every dehumanizing stereotype and slur you shared, every callous and cruel rally insult you passionately amen-ed. Its time to pay for every denial of Scientific evidence, every terminated qualified conscientious objector, every attack on factual, responsible journalism, every vicious assault on objective reality, every star-spangled dog-and-pony show distraction, every lazy xenophobic caricature, every tired racist tirade. This is how your beloved capitalism works isn’t it: someone was always going to pay for services rendered? Nothing is free, isn’t that what you’ve been saying—no handouts? Well, dig deep friend because you are on the hook for this. Many people have been footing the bill for a long time: migrants and Muslims and transgender people, young black men, refugees, the sick and the poor, already vulnerable communities pushed all the way to the brink—and now past it.You were paying too of course, you were just too willfully ignorant or intellectually negligent to realize it. Over and over we tried to tell you about the cost: the civil rights you were sacrificing too, the environmental protections you were losing as well as we were, the safety and security you were relinquishing alongside us. We tried to tell you that this hardship was not a partisan expense, that his moral bankruptcy would eventually hit you hard too.But your Fox News bubble and your white Evangelical echo chamber and your America First, Don’t Tread on Me, middle-finger affinity clubs left you certain you were insulated from it all; that the only tears that would fall would be liberal ones, that the only people suffering voted for Hillary, that all of the pain would be isolated to people who vote Blue. You felt immune from the spreading sickness. You felt invincible, because your messiah told you that you were winning and that was enough for you. He was lying to you as he always does, but you preferred to believe the lie because it felt warm running through your veins even as it was poisoning you—the intoxicating, cheap high of making America great while owning the Libs. That was a costly drug, that arrogance—and you were slowly going broke in your addiction. Now, in the middle of a burgeoning pandemic and a precipitous market crash and a hopelessly fractured nation, the bill is coming due. You can’t avoid paying anymore. You’re here with us. I think even you realize that now. This President didn’t create this virus, but he ignored it, denied it, minimized it, joked about it, weaponized it, politicized it, exacerbated it.He systematically removed qualified people and replaced them with genuflecting, sycophantic traitors—or with no one at all.He generated a steady stream of partisan attacks and conspiracy theories and abject lies created in the moment, and the kind of “I am smarter than anyone in the room” sermonizing that cult leaders bellow all the way to the terrible and tragic end.He is culpable for the chaos and the unnecessary illness, and yes the preventable deaths because of it—and you are too. This is the human cost of the MAGA cult delusion, and we’re all paying for it now equally, however we voted.Pandemics don’t choose sides or spare voting blocks or respect affiliations. He will pay for it in November and in the unflattering, incorruptible light of History.I hope whatever you received was worth it.I hope you still feel like you’re winning. JOKED ABOUT IT,
WEAPONIZED IT,
POLITICIZED IT,
EXACERBATED IT.
HE SYSTEMATICALLY REMOVED QUALIFIED PEOPLE AND REPLACED THEM WITH GENUFLECTING, SYCOPHANTIC TRAITORS—OR WITH NO ONE AT ALL. HE GENERATED A STEADY STREAM OF PARTISAN ATTACKS AND CONSPIRACY THEORIES AND ABJECT LIES CREATED IN THE MOMENT, AND THE KIND OF “I AM SMARTER THAN ANYONE IN THE ROOM” SERMONIZING THAT CULT LEADERS BELLOW ALL THE WAY TO THE TERRIBLE AND TRAGIC END. HE IS CULPABLE FOR THE CHAOS AND THE UNNECESSARY ILLNESS, AND YES THE PREVENTABLE DEATHS BECAUSE OF IT—AND YOU ARE TOO. THIS IS THE HUMAN COST OF THE MAGA CULT DELUSION, AND WE’RE ALL PAYING FOR IT NOW EQUALLY, HOWEVER WE VOTED. PANDEMICS DON’T CHOOSE SIDES OR SPARE VOTING BLOCKS OR RESPECTAFFILIATIONS.
HE WILL PAY FOR IT IN NOVEMBER AND IN THE UNFLATTERING, INCORRUPTIBLELIGHT OF HISTORY.
I HOPE WHATEVER YOU RECEIVED WAS WORTH IT. I HOPE YOU STILL FEEL LIKE YOU’RE WINNING.SHARE THIS:
