A few days ago, a memory of a 2015 Facebook post popped up on my timeline – and unlike many other memories that I ignore – I took a look at this one and decided to share. The topic was “The Front Porch.” As a kid and a teen, I loved sitting on our frontSALMON CORDON BLEU
Roll in beaten egg and then in flour to coat.I prefer whole wheat pastry flour (and will often add wheat germ and flax seed powder) but any flour or bread crumbs could work. Place in greased baking dish, drizzle with melted herb butter, cover with domed foil, and bake at 375 for about 30 minutes. WHEN WILL WE LISTEN AND LEARN? I wrote the first draft of this post before the heinous attempted coup at the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. That said, I believe what I write here – but to be very clear, what I say midway through cannot be forgotten: When your opinion begins to impinge upon the lived experience and safety of another person, it is no longer an opinion or a cause to fight FOR. DIRTY HANDS
The weather here in Chicago and my schedule finally allowed me a few moments to get into my garden this week. Gardening is a recent addition to my list of enjoyable activities. I hesitate to claim it, or much else, as a hobby because I flit and float as the mood hits me.But a

A2Z HOLISTIC SELF-CARE: A IS FOR ASK A is for Ask Often when we think of self-care, immediate thoughts of ‘self-centered’, ‘selfish’, and ‘self-absorbed’ come to mind. Asking feels a little counter-intuitive to self-care – isn’t the point to listen to my own inner voice and what I need? I’d like to suggest that we begin our holistic self-care journey with“ASK.”
WINTER BUCKET LIST
On Dec 21, I posted a Seasonal Link Up for Winter - and today, I share my first update. I wanted these seasonal goals to focus on season-specific wellness - particularly to thrive in what can often be filled with 'winter blues'. This allows me to focus on writing, editing, tutoring, and relaxing on ATOZ HOLISTIC SELF-CARE: F IS FOR FASTING Obviously I’m very late to this post, but I had to weigh in on this topic. ATOZ HOLISTIC SELF-CARE: UNDER THE WIRE After ‘catching up’ on letters R and S, I thought for sure I’d hunker down and plow out the remaining letters of the AtoZ Challenge. Alas, here we are on April 30 – and I have an entire week of thoughts about self-care to crank out. I hope to keep it short enoughto make
