All IRVA members welcome to participate! These meetings will be for all those interested in research, whether brand new to it or highly experienced. No degree, affiliation, or anything is required except to be a current IRVA member. Chris is pursuing his PhD at Rice University in Houston, TX, and his dissertation entitled “Secularized Spirituality: Parapsychology, Postmodern Magic, and the Scientization of Religion” will include an examination of the Stargate program and the current state of Remote Viewing. Chris is a Graduate Archival Assistant at the Rice University Woodson Research Center for Special Collections, where he has been processing the papers of Stargate researcher, Edwin C. May. As the winner of the Lyn Buchanan Grant, Chris will receive full reimbursement of his travel expenses to the 2020 IRVA conference, up to $1500. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students from all academic disciplines, including but not limited to Psychology, Philosophy, Engineering, Physics, and Religion, are encouraged to apply for the Lyn Buchanan Grant. The 2020 Lyn Buchanan Grant provides up to $1,500 in direct payment or reimbursed expenses, including: * Coach-class airfare or equivalent travel to/from Las Vegas * Accommodations at the Las Vegas South Point Hotel for 3 nights * Ticket to IRVA 2020 conference banquet * Meal allowance ($60 per day for 3 days) * Full IRVA 2020 conference registration fee* * One-year IRVA membership, including subscription to Aperturemagazine*

IRVA WELCOMES SEAN MAHONEY TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS. Sean Mahoney holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in mechanical engineering and has a broad range of work experience having worked in the fields of automotive engineering, Information Technology, and human performance research. His background is mainly in technical project management but he has a strong interest in the potential of the human mind. Sean learned remote viewing in 2012 and later became a certified hypnotist in 2014. He is particularly interested in using tools like remote viewing to tap into human intuition for augmenting creative problem solving efforts and accelerating the speed of innovation by provoking insights.May 31, 2019
