The statements address a wide range of topics and are intended to influence policy makers both in individual countries and international organizations. All countries now recognize the intimate relationship between science, technology and ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE FIRST REVIEW BY EXPERTS OF THE IPBES Under the umbrella of the IAP, more than 140 national, regional and global member academies work together to support the vital role of science in seeking evidence-based solutions to the world’s most challenging problems.

Jin-Ho Chung received his Ph.D. (Toxicology) from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. He has been Professor of College of Pharmacy at Seoul National University (SNU) since Sept. 1988. Jin-Ho Chung managed an organization as director at Institute of Environment Protection and Safety of Seoul National University for 3years (2008-2011).
SCIENTIFIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR FOOD AND NUTRITION SECURITY Robin Fears, Joachim von Braun and Volker ter Meulen released an article on the achievements of the ongoing IAP project 'Food and Nutrition Security and Agriculture' in the Journal: The Lancet Planetary Health. Malnutrition in its various forms—undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies, as well as overweight and obesity—is a problem faced by all countries. SCIENCE OF GM CROPS REVIEWED The US National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine and the UK’s Royal Society have each released reports on the science behind genetically modified (GM) crops. NEW BOOK: ‘EXPLORING TRADITIONAL MEDICINE’ The InterAcademy Partnership is pleased to announce the launch of a new book: ‘Exploring Traditional Medicine: Report of a symposium’. It will focus on the resilience of art cities to natural disasters and the role of academies of sciences.
