Application. Journalists of all media can apply to take part in the international bursary programmes and conferences of IJP. IJP: AFRICA TALKS
With the weekly online discussion series ‘Africa Talks’ the IJP offer a platform to discuss precisely these issues. Once a week, fellows and alumni of the Southern African Programme will have a chance to discuss relevant topics with selected journalists and guests. The web series puts a focus on economic, political and health-related issues IJP: THE ISRAELI FELLOWSHIP The fellowship is intended to enable young journalists to familiarise with the political issues in Germany at an early stage of their career. This will raise awareness of aspects of German-Israeli relations in future multipliers and will give them a personal insight into mentality, culture and everyday life in Germany and the EuropeanUnion.

Application The IJP accepts applications from UK journalists aged between 18 and 40 who work for any type of print, radio or TV media. There is no formal language requirement. IJP Journalists' Bursaries The core purpose of IJP's bursaries is the international exchange of media talents and opinion makers. For every German journalist taking part in a programme abroad a foreign colleague will work in a German media organisation. IJP: THE SOUTHERN AFRICAN BURSARY The Southern African Bursary Update: Due to the ongoing global pandemic and the associated travel and contact restrictions, the Southern Africa Programme will not take place in 2021.Calls for application for 2022 will be published at the end of the year, situation permitting. Insteasd of the exchange programme, the digital Africa Talks will continue this year on a regular basis. IJP: THE NORTHERN EUROPEAN BURSARY The German non-profit organization IJP – International Journalists’ Programmes – hereby announces its twenty-second bursary in 2021 for journalists from Germany and the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.In 2015 the exchange with the Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania was was also included.. This will raise awareness of aspects of German-Israeli relations in future multipliers and will give them a personal insight into mentality, culture and everyday life in Germany and the EuropeanUnion.
IJP: THE DUTCH BURSARY The German-Dutch journalists' bursary programme was founded as the second IJP bursary in 1994. Every year it gives up to six Dutch and six German journalists the opportunity for a working visit in the other country. IJP: RESEARCH GRANTS IJP alumni are eligible for a number of research grants on selected topics. The grants are awarded throughout the year. Alumni of all IJP programmes can apply for a Holbrooke Research Grant. The scholarship of up to 4,000 euro is intended to support extensive research projects on globally relevant topics. IJP: THE ASIAN FELLOWSHIP Programme Description. Since 1995 the German-Asian-Programme offered fellowships for Asian journalists from the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan, as well as Thailand, Vietnam, The Philippines and Indonesia to come to Germany. German journalists got the chance to visit these countries for a couple ofmonths.
IJP: THE BRITISH BURSARY Journalists between the age of 18 and 40 years who regularly contribute as staff or freelance journalists to the German or British media can apply.There is no formal language requirement concerning the host language. Nevertheless, it is highly recommended for German applicants to present evidence of fluency in English in their application.British applicants do not have to have any priorIJP: AFRICA TALKS
With the weekly online discussion series ‘Africa Talks’ the IJP offer a platform to discuss precisely these issues. Once a week, fellows and alumni of the Southern African Programme will have a chance to discuss relevant topics with selected journalists and guests.
