The tasks or duties listed below have been grouped into three primary skill categories. Obstacle Avoidance, Signaling Changes in Elevation and Locating Objects. IAADP MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS Benefits for All Members “Partners Forum,” a publication honored for excellence by the Dog Writers Association of America, fosters a global information sharing and advocacy network, linking together more than 300 assistance dog providers and thousands of assistance dog teams on five continents. IAADP MINIMUM TRAINING STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC ACCESS IAADP Minimum Training Standards for Public Access . 1. Amount of Schooling: an assistance dog should be given a minimum of one hundred twenty (120) hours of schooling over a period of Six Months or more.* At least thirty (30) hours should be devoted to outings that will prepare the dog to work obediently and unobtrusively in publicplaces.**
