For all of Liverpool's international cuisine, one style of eatery has been noticeably underrepresented until recently, and that style is American. Cue Rack Dollar Bar Grill. MANCHESTER MUSEUM ONLINE Manchester Museum has opened an online door to its treasures, whilst its building on Oxford Road remains firmly shut, due to COVID-19. Although Manchester Museum has, like most institutions, an assortment of online resources, the shutdown has given it the opportunity to 'curate' those resources "in one place on an easy to navigate site." DAN WHITEHOUSE: LIVE FROM JAPAN Dan had planned to support the release of Dreamland Tomorrow with a series of live shows throughout the year - including an autumn tour. But Covid-19 has forced the cancellation of all his live/ venue-based shows - a predicament not helped by the fact that he was actually in Japan when the worldwide pandemic hit. MUDLARKING BY THE RIVER THAMES According to Wikipedia "A mudlark is someone who scavenges in river mud for items of value, a term used especially to describe those who scavenged this way in London during the late 18th and 19th centuries". Nowadays it's more about scavenging for history. UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES IN NORTH WALES Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. This is the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in North Wales that isn't a castle. And, as far as I'm aware, it wasn't built by Edward 1st, so we can all be grateful for that. The aqueduct carries the Llangollen Canal to the River Dee and design and build was carried out by legendary engineers, Thomas Telford and William Jessop. THE BEST WALKS IN THURSO The walk begins at Riverside Car Park in Thurso. This is really easy to get to either by car or by public transport. The start of the walk is across a footbridge over the River Thurso. It crosses over into some warehouses, and doesn't look very promising as a walk, but stick with it. CHURCH STREET, TWICKENHAM Typical English villages have historically consisted of a church and a pub. Church Street in Twickenham betrays its origins as an early village as it can boast two pubs and the Church of St Mary the Virgin, which gives the street its name.The church can be dated back to sometime before the thirteenth century although the present building is far younger than that.
