Design System Kickoff - Hackathon. This is Part 2 of a multi-part blog series that follows the Design System project at Turing School of Software & Design. Read Part 1 here. Our software team was ready to start dedicating time to build a shared design system for our suite of TURING SCHOOL OF SOFTWARE & DESIGN In order to join us at Turing School, students must: Be at least 18 years of age when classes begin. Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent when classes begin. Be within 2 time zones of Mountain Time in order to participate in our classes via Zoom, which are held every weekday from 9 am to 4 pm MT. Some tips for applying to our program: TAKE A PEEK INTO TURING’S REMOTE CLASSROOMS Online classes give you the ability to learn from anywhere, but sometimes this type of learning can feel isolating and self-directed. When Turing began operating as a remote school, we knew we had to keep the community feel and support that had helped over 1000 alumni find successful careers as software developers. At Turing, all classes are instructor led in real time via Zoom to ensure INTRO TO OAUTH AND WHY YOU SHOULD JUST USE FIREBASE OR Don't Roll Your Own OAuth. In the tech world we have a tendency to want to build things from scratch or reinvent the wheel. (Exhibit A: npm has 3,346 packages related to the fetch API.)WELCOME TO TURING

GROUPING AND AGGREGATING Joining, Grouping, and Aggregating. If you use group with a calculation method, it will always return a hash with the grouped data and the calculation, but what if we want more than just the raw data? For instance, what if we wanted Artist objects sorted by their average length of song? Any time we need information from two or more tables, we are going to need to join those tables.WELCOME TO TURING

Mod 0 is a prerequisite course for both of the programs at Turing. It is a structured series of 5 sessions which take place remotely during the evening, and ideally starts 6 weeks before you begin your full-time FEE or BEE course at Turing. These classes are not in person, and are conducted fully remotely via Zoom.WAR OR PEACE
Overview. In this project, you will write a program to simulate a game of war. A user will be able to create two players, and watch them ‘play’ the game. In order to build good habits, we’ve broken the project into small classes to demonstrate objects that have a single INTRO TO OAUTH AND WHY YOU SHOULD JUST USE FIREBASE OR Don't Roll Your Own OAuth. In the tech world we have a tendency to want to build things from scratch or reinvent the wheel. (Exhibit A: npm has 3,346 packages related to the fetch API.)FAQS - TURING

He sees teaching art and programming as similar because beginning level students look at high level skill and wonder how someone did that project. He wants his students to take risks thatlead to growth and

The ultimate goal of our full-time, online coding school is student success. We work with employers to ensure we're teaching the skills needed for in-demand software development jobs. We constantly refine and reimagine our curriculum to meet student needs. Beyond our technical curriculum we offer mental health support, financial coaching, and a mentoring program to ensure each student has what they need to succeed in the program and on the job. Our Career Services team works with every student individually to prepare them for a job hunt where they define and find their own fulfilling technical career. And, we regularly gather and act on feedback from our entire community to ensure our methods are working for everyone.EXPLORE PROGRAMS
Turing School's curriculum is all about web development, where there are thousands of open roles. Some people look for "Full-Stack" training, but we believe that it's best to develop a deep knowledge in one area. That's why we offer two full-time programs: FRONT-END ENGINEERING Front-End engineers work close to the actual user of the software. Many Front-End developers have an interest in visual design, but it is not a design discipline. In this program, students focus on building the "client-side" of applications where code is executed in the browser. They learn to write JavaScript, leveraging the React framework. BACK-END ENGINEERING Back-End engineers work close to the data and how that data moves, changes, and grows over time. A Back-End engineer can build a fully-functioning web application, but the majority of their work is all the parts of an application you don't see. In this program, students focus on building "server-side" applications. They learn to write Ruby, leverage the Ruby on Rails framework, and work with SQL databases. Unsure of which program is right for you? Don’t stress! The application process is the same for either program, so you can still start your application now . Most people attend a Try Coding event to help them decide between the Front-End and Back-End program. More Info Apply NowTRY CODING
