Historically Black Colleges and Universities Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were established in the United States early in the 19th century, to provide undergraduate and graduate level educational opportunities to people of African descent. Black students were unwelcome at existing public and private institutions of higher education (IHEs), even after the passing of LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE The award-winning Leadership Institute is a TMCF national program intended to develop students’ leadership skills, provide organizations access to a talented and diverse student population, and help students make connections that lead to careers. MOGULS IN THE MAKING TMCF will select 10 HBCUs or Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs) to participate in the Moguls in the Making competition. Of the ten schools selected to compete, five students from each school will make up their team and represent their institution. This two-and-a-half-day business competition will be both challenging and rewarding to you! FLEISCHER SCHOLARS PROGRAM Overview The TMCF Fleischer HBCU Scholars Program provides high-achieving juniors, who will be graduating from high school in 2021, the opportunity to experience college life, entrepreneurship, and business during a week-long residential program. The National Black Talent Bank™ will bolster the pipeline of diverse talent in the LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE The award-winning Leadership Institute is a TMCF national program intended to develop students’ leadership skills, provide organizations access to a talented and diverse student population, and help students make connections that lead to careers. THURGOOD MARSHALL COLLEGE FUND ANNOUNCES PLANS TO CREATE WASHINGTON, DC (JUNE 4, 2021) – The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), which represents America’s publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs), will expand its expertise in diversity talent to form the National Black Talent Bank™. The National Black Talent Bank™ will bolster the pipeline of diverse talent in the LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE The award-winning Leadership Institute is a TMCF national program intended to develop students’ leadership skills, provide organizations access to a talented and diverse student population, and help students make connections that lead to careers. Students must apply to attend the Leadership Institute and undergo a rigorousinterview process
