Article with images +11 LOCAL GROWERS TAKE WAIT-AND-SEE APPROACH THROUGH CHANGING WEATHER After a six-month period that has included a historic freeze, drought conditions and five weeks of frequent heavy rains, Southern Brazoria County farmers might not be surprised if frogs started falling toearth.
THEME EMERGING FROM LEGISLATURE OF UNFINISHED BUSINESS It isn’t so much the end for the year, but a pause in the action of the Texas Legislature. The regularly scheduled legislative session came to a close recently, but with a special session coming up, legislators are looking at what didn’t quite make it, and what couldstill be done.
EYES ON THE RIVERS FOR THE WEEKEND There is not much else residents can do at this point except wait and watch as heavy rain and rising rivers affect another weekend — both the Brazos and San Bernard rivers are projected to overtop their banks Saturday afternoon, and flash flooding from downpours remains apossibility.
