HOW TO BEAUTIFULLY TRANSFORM AN IKEA MALM DRESSER How to Paint your Ikea Malm Dresser: The first thing I did was to scuff up the Ikea Malm dresser with a sander. . Just random scuffing and sanding all over. Then I went over the entire thing with Americana Chalky Type Paint in Everlasting. As you must know by now I use this color as a base and also because it goes on really well. QUICKLY MAKE A SUPER EASY PALLET COUCH I had used pallets before. I had even made a drunken table with one, but here I was looking to quickly make something because my poor bones were tired after working on other projects all day.I just wanted something super easy that would allow me to enjoy this great big ol’balcony!
PAINT AN AWESOME CLOUDY EFFECT ACCENT WALL Make some awesome paint effects on your walls by learning how to paint clouds with a sponge, paint brushes and milk paint. With the cooler weather kicking in I have been neglecting my blogging duties and painting an accent wall instead! Yes, I’ve been painting the rest of the house. It really needed it as you can see from that wall below. PAINTING A VINTAGE METAL TRUNK Painting Old Trunks. Disclosure: I was compensated for doing this post with product. However, all the opinions stated here are my own. In my trusty old basement we have a whole lot of trunks. Not exactly what most folks have, but then again we are not most folks. UPCYCLED BOOKCASES AND HOW TO AVOID MISTAKES- THE Secondly, this is not real wood. It is an MDF, Medium Density Fiberboard product, it’s more of a cheap bookcase. And thirdly, I’ve talked about how I want to brighten up the apartment and add fun colors to it, just like I did with the happy chairs. The wood was making the room look dark and dreary if you can believe it. HOW TO MAKE PRETTY PLEATED DROP CLOTH CURTAINS The most common way to hang curtains there is either with a valence hiding the track or with a band of fabric which incorporates loops. This is sewn onto the back of the curtain. The little hooks on the curtain rings are then attached to the loops. Once you pull on the threads they bunch up and create a pretty pleated effect. USING UPCYCLED ITEMS TO CREATE A BEACHY VIGNETTE A few household items can be transformed into a pretty beachy vignette to bring back memories of summer vacations and days on the beach. HOW TO PAINT A LAMP BASE TO LOOK LIKE STONE Towards the end, I used the dry brush technique. This basically means you put very little paint on the brush and before adding it to the lamp you dab off some of the paint on a paper towel or palette so as to just have a tiny bit of paint that goes onto your object. It was a very sloppy process – intentionally to look like stone. HOW TO SAVE AN OLD LAMINATE TABLE WITH GEL STAIN Here are the two leaves. Now remember, the bottom brushstroke is opposite to the top brushstroke. That’s why I got all that variation and depth of the stain. The top of the table was done in the opposite way. The chalky finish was painted width wise, and the gel stain was also painted in the same direction, across. HOW TO MAKE A UNIQUE MOBILE WITH WIRE HANGERS The How To Make a Wire Hanger Mobile: I took the two metal wire hangers (I ended up not using the third one) and opened them up, then using the pliers, shaped them into these circles you see below. I also made sure to make one larger and one smaller than the wicker plate charger. I then cut the twine into four long pieces and made loopholes

It had served its purpose on the dress but it looks much better on the wreath! And the striped fabric was from ashirt of mine.

USING UPCYCLED ITEMS TO CREATE A BEACHY VIGNETTE The beaches in my area in Greece are not full of sand but full of pebbles instead. So when I think of pebbles I think of the beach. I am going to use pebbles and my love of the beach as inspiration for this coastal style display. PAINTING A VINTAGE METAL TRUNK Painting Old Trunks.
