2021 SESSION ADVOCACY + LEGISLATIVE UPDATES : SCCADVASA With the start of the 2021 Legislative Sessions in both South Carolina and at the Federal Level, SCCADVASA will continue our advocacy efforts and monitor the situation at the S.C. State House and in Washington, D.C. Each week, we will provide you with an update on how things are progressing at both the State and Federal level. STATEWIDE CONFERENCES AND REGIONAL TRAININGS : SCCADVASA SAVE THE DATE: Widening Pathways: Improving Access for Survivors with Disabilities Conference, September 23rd – 24th, 2021. Understanding how to provide the reasonable accommodations that survivors with disabilities need to access services is critically important for those who provide advocacy and direct services. However, we need to move beyond disability rights to a more holistic approach GET HELP : SCCADVASA SCCADVASA Member Organizations. SCCADVASA works with 22 independently operated 501(c)(3) non-profit member organizations that provide confidential, direct services to survivors of domestic violence and/orsexual assault.
SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH 2021 : SCCADVASA Sexual Assault Awareness Month (#SAAM2021) takes place during the month of April to increase public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities about how it can be prevented. South Carolina is building on the national theme, “We Can Build Safe Online Spaces,” led by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) reminding STALKING & HARASSMENT : SCCADVASA Stalking/Harassment is a pattern of behavior that makes you feel afraid, nervous, harassed, or in danger. It is when someone repeatedly contacts you, follows you, sends you things, talks to you when you don’t want them to, or threatens you. All fifty states have some form of stalking and harassment law.
