Water Retaining Structures. Sprayed concrete is used in sea, canal, and river walls, reservoirs and dams, bund walls, aqueducts, water towers, irrigation and drainage channels, and sewage tanks.CASE STUDIES
Case Studies. BAM Ritchies Concrete Techniques spraying and grouting teams undertook four month’s work near Galashiels on the Borders Rail project with BAM Nuttall. Shotcrete Services Ltd provided supply and labour plant and materials to excavate and construct sprayed concrete enlargements within WHAT IS SPRAYED CONCRETE Sprayed concrete was developed by Dr Carlton Akeley around the turn of the 20th century. The early machines placed the dry mix of sand and cement into the pressurized chamber from where it was projected to a nozzle where water was added.DEMONSTRATION DAYS
As part of the Structural Concrete Alliance, the SCA takes part in Alliance Demo Days. This Structural Concrete Alliance regional CPD event is designed to provide delegates with an interactive chance to meet the professionals first hand. This project by Shorcrete Services involved the stabilisation of the carriageway which was washing away with each tide. The carriageway contained High Voltage cables, live sewer and other services. Work was completed between tides with a fast setting high-strength shotcrete.
