Qualification Wales has today published Information for centres on the centre review and appeals process in summer 2021. The document provides further information about how appeals will work this year.WJEC is also publishing itsguidance today.
QUALIFICATIONS WALES / WHAT SUBJECTS ARE AVAILABLE? In subjects where there is no Wales-specific GCSE or A level available, state-funded learners will be able to choose from the GCSEs and A levels that have been reformed for England – as long as we have designated them as eligible for use on publicly funded learning programmes in Wales.. GCSE (9-1) AS and A level subjects and the awarding bodies offering them in England. QUALIFICATIONS WALES / DESIGNATION OF QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications Wales may also designate a qualification as eligible for use on publicly-funded programmes of learning for learners under the age of 19. Designation means that we regulate the awarding body offering the qualification and that we are content that it is appropriate for the qualification to be offered on publicly-fundedcourses for
QUALIFICATIONS WALES / CONSTRUCTION AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT The Foundation and Progression qualifications will be available from September 2021 while the Level 3 Apprenticeship qualifications will be introduced in September 2022. The introduction of these innovative new qualifications has been welcomed by employers as providing learners with a broader knowledge of the industry as a whole. QUALIFICATIONS WALES / COVID-19 EXTRAORDINARY REGULATORY On 3 June 2020, we published our Extraordinary Regulatory Framework for Vocational Qualifications (Conditions, Requirements and Guidance). On 27 April 2021, we published a notice to disapply this framework. This framework sets out our regulatory requirements for awarding bodies offering vocational qualifications during the Covid-19pandemic.
QUALIFICATIONS WALES / BUILDING THE FUTURE Building the Future. How our review worked Building the Future, our review of qualifications in Construction and the Building Environment was published in 2018 and highlighted the need to reform qualifications in the sector.. The report summarised the views of learning providers and a range of professional and representative bodies, together with more than 100 emplo yers and over 900 learners.
