I toured and recorded a few albums with him in Germany in the 60s, Eberhart Weber was the bassist in his band. I am very sad to learn that the great German jazz pianist and composer Wolfgang Dauner just passed away on January 10, 2020 at the age of 84. Life Enigma is a return to the musical style that Ponty perfected during his decade-long stint with Atlantic Records between 1975-1985. Many songs on the album are complete solo performances on which Ponty played several instruments.
