If you fire a Glock, the slide cycles before you can release the trigger. As the slide comes out of battery, the trigger bar is released upward and the striker tab catches coming forward into battery. hence, the gun is "cocked" when it comes forward (trigger back) and the "cocked" striker spring force is what pushes the trigger forward if you release it.PISTOLSMITH

I recently purchase a WWI 50 Year Commemorative Colt M1911. It was made in 1967. serial # 2031 -M2. It has the etching of 7 Marines on one side of a field firing across at 4 Germans on the other side..Very fine detail work right down to the seams in the leggings on theMarines.

Hi, I have heard that a good person with quick hand can shoot pump faster than semi-autos. What I was told is that a shooter just keeps the trigger pulled to the stop and not let it reset, and just work thepump.

Good post, T. Another reason for a mfg to adopt an external unit is that the same part can be used in multiple applications (different guns). For instance, someone e-mailed me the other day, stating that the "new" external extractor, as used in a new model by a certain mfg out there, appears the to be the exact same part being used by another, closely related firm, in one of their auto-loaders.PISTOLSMITH
I have been researching this for quite some time. For my set up I was thinking the bench base/yoke would work best. But I am still considering each. below is a link of the one I have my eye on, and of course having to add the H.30 hand piece.PISTOLSMITH
ok ball bearing referring to the pin between the slide stop and the thumb safety. the thumb safety rocks up and down over a weird pivot that allows the thumb safety to protrude into the thumb safety notch about 20 thousandths and stop the slide from sliding back. with out being put fully in to the safety notch.PISTOLSMITH
I can't remember the last time I had a problem with my MK9 or P9. Must be close to 1000 rounds. Both have been tuned at Scott, McDougall. After some initial problems, and a few trips back to the Kahr plant, my K40 has settled down and has now gone abour 300 rounds without aproblem.

I found a 9mm conversion barrel at EFK and have installed it. It required minor fitting, particularly at the end of the feed ramp. Shot 200/250 rounds of mixed ammo with no failures at all - no changes to the gun other than a standard 9mm recoil spring and 9mm mags and of course the conversion barrel.PISTOLSMITH

Back when the Officer's ACP was introduced there was some concern about the thin barrel bushing and the little tab on the reverse plugbreaking.

Thanks for the answers, I will probably pass on the targetsman. Fragile sight, hard to find parts for the sight, and $70 for a repalcement that may eill break in use again. MODEL W12 .357
The DW model 12 was produced in 1970 and 71 and had the "pork chop" style barrel shroud and external barrel nut. These items are long out of production but can be found at gunshows and eBay from time to time. It is chambered in 357 Magnum, has adjustable rear sight, barrel lengths were available in 2 1/2, 4, and 6 inches.WALTHER PPK
The markings on the left side of the pistol are as follows: Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do. Walther Banner Modell PPK Cal. 9mm Kurz. Made In W. Germany. Right side of pistol: Slide. Serial Number 242982. Interarms Alexandria Virginia. Some kind ofWOOD GRIPS FOR MK9
Just received a set of beautiful wood grips for my new MK9 Elite 2003. The fit is OK, but the holes do not line up - tried the right side only, didn't bother to check the left side the holes are off by what seems more that a 32nd of an inch - bad, real bad job!RCBS PIGGYBACK II
I loaded over 80,000 rounds on what started out as a Piggyback on a RCBS reloader Special 3 or 5. At around 50,000 rounds I started having some problems with the primer feed, and a few other things, I phoned RCBS and eventually they converted me over to the new Piggyback II, which will not throw powder if there is no case present. RAMPED VS UNRAMPED BARREL IN 38 SUPER The reality found with my project guns is rather simple and practical: Any high pressure calibers like .38 super and .40 S&W (even 9x23 and 10mm with well designed cases that don't require it), get all ramped barrels for added safety and easier multi-frame use, that will provide more options if one decides to do any variation of barrel/slide I-70 KILLER & THE ERMA WERKE ET-22 The above link also has an additional link on the page to a Dark Minds television episode that provides more details about the case. There is a $25,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of this serial killer. MOST DURABLE AND ANTI-CORROSIVE FINISH? I have spent some time now trying to find the Most Durable and Most Anti-Corrosive Black finish available, Regardless of the Cost. I haveheard of Ion
EXTERNAL EXTRACTOR?
If the internal extractor is made of spring steel, per John Moses Browning's design specifications, it will last a very long time. If it is a casting or a MIM part, it might make it a few thousand rounds before cracking and falling apart.KIMBER GRIP SAFETY
I, too, was wondering about replacing the Kimber grip safety. I didn't want to alter an aluminum frame and re-finish. I emailed CMC, and they said that if the Kimber had a .250" radius, the part could be installed without mods to the frame. RAMPED VS UNRAMPED BARREL IN 38 SUPER When I went through the process of developing a "ramped" model, again, I looked at what was the most practical. That was, Wilson/Nowlin ramp (seems to be most popular on single stacks) and I believe (not 100%) that is the choice with Springfield and Kimber (what does that tellyou).
