IT’S A BOY…NO, IT’S A GIRL…WAIT…IT’S KITTENS! KITTEN SEASON HAS ARRIVED AND HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP KITTIES INNEED!
WHAT IS KITTEN SEASON? As cooler weather ends and the temperature begins to warm, many unaltered female cats are in heat. 60 days later they begin giving birth to litters of kittens! Many shelters, including our own, take in an overwhelming number of litters from MAY TO NOVEMBER each year.HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The PEIHS relies heavily on monetary donations, and donated supplies. Each kitten at our shelter can cost over $1000.00 (this includes their care, housing, food, vaccinations, parasite treatment, and spay/neuter). During kitten season, PEIHS will receive kittens needing extraordinary medical attention. We want to give every kitten the best possible outcome so we need our community’s help- YOUR help- to offer these homeless kittens a second chance at life! ♥BECOME A KITTEN DONOR ♥ Take a peek at our wish list on our websiteor
check out our amazon kitten shower registry!
You can DONATE online here, or right to our shelter at PO Box 2002, 309 Sherwood Rd Charlottetown, PE, C1A 9E3. We also accept Paypal or credit card at 902-892-1190 ♥BECOME A KITTEN SPONSOR ♥ Help us by sponsoring a mama cat or kitten! The average cost for feeding and care for a kitten can be estimated at $22/day, this covers the basics (food, water, shelter) plus the cost of spay/neuters, vaccines, and deworming. This does not include the medical emergency surgeries that our shelter provides such as amputations or enucleations which can range from $2000 to $6000 per animal. The average cost of care for 1 kitten is $1122 basic care plus 160.88 for routine vet care amounts to $1282.88. On average kittens stay for 51 days in our shelter and or foster care. If you donate $1000 or more, you are a KITTEN HERO and will receive a photo of the kitten you sponsored and the opportunity to name akitten!
Here are some other options below * Kitten Hero -$ 1000 * Medical Emergency Fund – $500 * Mama & babies- $250* Vet Care- $100
* Feed a kitten- $50 * Comfort a kitten- $25 _ANY AMOUNT HELPS; THE KITTENS AND OUR SHELTER WILL APPRECIATE WHATEVER YOU ARE ABLE TO GIVE!_ ♥BECOME A KITTEN FOSTER ♥ We are always in need of new Foster homes for our kittens as we never know when the next litter will be coming in. If the Momma cat does not come in with a litter, then we need extra special homes that are willing to do Bottle Baby Feeding as well until the kittens are ableto eat wet food.
If you are interested in fostering kittens, our Foster Coordinator can tell you everything you need to know, give you the supplies you will need and are available for questions while you care for them.
