Park People is a registered, independent, charitable non-profit that supports and mobilizes people to help them activate the power of parks to improve quality of life in cities across Canada. Park People’s professional services build on our charitable work activating the power of parks. We help our clients engage communities, create qualityPARK PEOPLE
Experience working in a non-profit environment. Starting Salary: $43,000 – $45,000. Anticipated Start Date: end June, early July 2021. Park People is a great place to work: We offer a generous benefits package including health and dental benefits, annual cost of living increases and a pension plan.PARK PEOPLE
Today, Park People is a fully national organization with offices in multiple cities including Vancouver and Montreal. Since our founding, Park People has helped community park groups undertake more than 3,000 events, attended by 275,000 people and supported by 23,000 volunteers. Thanks to our generous donors, we have directed investments ofPARK PEOPLE
Together with les amis de la montagne, and in partnership with le Centre d'écologie urbaine de Montréal and le Conseil régional en environnement de Montréal, Park People is hosting the first-ever Montreal Park Forum on May 26 and 27 to officially launch the MontrealNetwork.

Recently, Park People staff and many community park groups embarked on an Indigenous tour of Toronto’s eastern neighbourhoods. For many of us, it was the first time we came to understand how Indigenous people fit into the narrative of the land that the city of Toronto now occupies. First Story Toronto, the organization that ledPARK PEOPLE
Allan Gardens is one of Toronto’s most historic parks, founded in 1858 with its iconic glass Palm House and century-old trees. The installation, Red Embers, recognizes that the park has long been an important gathering space for Indigenous peoples, while also struggling with issues of vandalism and violence. In June 2020, Park People conducted bilingual surveys to learn about the experiences of Canadians and municipalities during COVID-19. The findings from this unique Canadian dataset offer valuable insights into the role of parks during the pandemic, and their role in recovery.
