OLD COPPER SITES EXCAVATED BY THE MILWAUKEE PUBLIC MUSEUM This Old Copper Culture cemetery is located on the outskirts of the town of Oconto in Oconto County, Wisconsin. D. Baldwin discovered the site in 1952, while digging in an abandoned gravel quarry. During that same year an archaeological expedition was launched from the Milwaukee Public Museum led by Dr. Robert E. This cradleboard and cover were collected in Oklahoma City by George Gorton of Racine, WI who donated it to the Milwaukee Public Museum in 1962. It was made by a master beadworker named Doyetone around 1904 for her grandson William "Bill" Bear.
