MEDIATING WITH ZOOM
For many of us, this means mediating online. This is now commonly done via videoconference (Skype, Zoom and the like). Other options include text-only (such as CREK) or online chat. Some mediators have moved to phone conciliation, where mediators set-up a conference call with all participants or separately. The most common and most effective MEDIATING LAND USE CASES Until recently, land use mediation at any level has been comparatively infrequent. While the success of multi-party public policy or mediated rule making is well documented with many successful examples here and elsewhere, the unique structure of administrative land use law in Oregon brings with it its own special challenges. WHO GETS THE COVID-19 STIMULUS CHECK IN THE DIVORCE? In 2019, you divorced, but have not yet filed your 2019 taxes separately. In this common scenario, the Stimulus Check has likely been deposited in one spouse’s account per your 2018 taxes, rather than being equally distributed 50/50 between spouses. Additionally, one parent likely received 100% of the stimulus money for thechildren.
MEDIATION POSITIONS VS. INTERESTS In the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution, mediators, among other things, help people in dispute come to a mutually acceptable resolution about issues they do not agree on. Each party typically holds a disparate perspective from the other on what constitutes an appropriate settlement. By the time they get to talk it out in the mediation process to see if they can resolve matters, they TIME SHARING GUIDELINES Overnight time sharing is not recommended.
