VISIT US - MARINMUSEUM Information about your visit We have prepared for an experience with you as a visitor and the safety of our staff in focus, and have taken a number of precautions based on guidelines and recommendations from expert authorities and the Swedish government regarding theCoronavirus.
ABOUT THE MUSEUMSEE MORE ON MARINMUSEUM.SECOLLECTIONS
The Naval Museum collections have been built up over the years ever since the museum was founded in 1752 – over 55,000 objects, more than 20,000 drawings, 250 metres of shelves containing archival documents, 500,000 photographs and about 20,000 books.EXHIBITIONS
At the Naval Museum, we offer a wide range of exhibitions about the Swedish Navy. We begin in the model chamber in the 18th century and finish in close contact with a submarine from the cold war.MUSEUM SHIPS
At the quay outside the Naval Museum the museum ships are moored. We have the full-rigger Jarramas, the minesweeper Bremön and the Västervik missile ship.THE MODEL CHAMBER
The Model Chamber is the heart of the Naval Museum and was founded in 1752 by the reigning king, Adolf Fredrik. The king wanted all themodels built
RESTAURANT - MARINMUSEUM The restaurant Skeppsgossen is beautifully situated in the Naval Museums most spacious room, with a large outdoor terrace next to thewater.
VÄSTERVIK MISSILE SHIP The wastepaper baskets are still full, one can still see the names of her last crew on the crates, and the fascinating action information centre is still there. A lot has remained completely untouched since December, 1997, when HMS Västervik made her last journey in the Swedish Marine Service. A visit on board is like travelling in a timemachine.
HISTORY OF THE SWEDISH MILITARY SERVICE It was where boys would become men and where lifelong friendships across class boundaries could be born, but it was also a place that some still remember with horror. With the conclusion of the last cycle of compulsory military service in 2011, Sweden's military service went to the grave – loved, hated and remembered by millions of Swedes. ON LAND, ON WATER, FOR REAL! On land, on water, for real! Amid the historical setting of the island of Stumholmen in Karlskrona the Naval Museum stretches out on a pierinto the water.

#MARINMUSEUM
Details
