SANDIFER’S SYNDROME MANCHESTER Sandifers Syndrome is commonly mistaken as a seizure. Associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD). This syndrome has very few cases reported. It is said to occur in less than 1% of children diagnosed with GORD. Children diagnosed with Sandifers Syndrome will quite often grow out of it by 18-36mths, unless the child has severe SILENT REFLUX MANCHESTER Silent reflux is a condition where infants/children do not seem to have any outward symptom’s of reflux. In other words, they usually do not vomit, which can make a diagnosis difficult, as one of the main symptoms is not present. Some infants/children may (after refluxing) swallow the stomach contents (vomit) back down, or stomach contents FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ON REFLUX IN CHILDREN VISIT s Vomiting old food, i.e., several hours after feeding s Choking or blue spells s Chronic vomiting that starts after 6 months of age What can you do to alleviate symptoms? In an infant with repeated regurgitation that is distressing to them or you, assuming no red- ag or warning signs are present, FIND YOUR LOCAL SUPPORT GROUP Living with Reflux Support Groups. Living with Reflux supports many groups across the UK, run and set up by fellow sufferers. Living with Reflux is a charity which was founded by Tracey Guilliatt-Parks and fellow sufferers in aid of supporting families with Gastro-oesophageal Reflux (GOR) and Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD) and other associated conditions. REFLUX DIAGNOSIS MANCHESTER Following this your specialist may consider the following tests to assess your child further, and to rule out any abnormalities that could possibly be at the root of you child’s symptoms. INFANTS REFLUX DISEASE TREATMENT MANCHESTER Firstly it is extremely rare for infants to suffer with GORD.
