PROMOTING INSECTS FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION & ANIMAL FEED IPIFF is an EU non-profit organisation which represents the interests of the insect production sector towards EU policy makers, European stakeholders and citizens. The International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed – the European association representing the stakeholders involved in the production of insects – is publishing today its ‘Contribution Paper on the application of the novel food transitional measure‘, a document which presents IPIFF GUIDE ON GOOD HYGIENE PRACTICES the production of insects destined to animal feed for food producing animals, including terrestrial livestock (e.g. poultry & pig species), aquaculture or pet food animals. It encompasses all production steps, from the feeding of the insects, their breeding, the killing & processing steps, storage or transport activities, up to the final IPIFF NOVEL FOOD GUIDELINES IPIFF published today a package of guideline documents aiming to assist insect producers in preparing novel food applications.
