ACTIVATE HISTORY MICRO-GRANTS The Activate History micro-grants program funds creative interpretation and dialogue that is meant to attract attention to local collections, texts, and stories of regional significance. The Activate History micro-grants are for $500 each. Applicants can request $250 in additional support to help make their events more accessible to audience ADA CHENG – IL HUMANITIES Ada Cheng is a professor-turned-storyteller, solo performer, and storytelling show producer. She was a tenured professor in sociology at DePaul University from 2001-2016, a job she left she to pursue storytelling and performance full time. BRIAN “FOX” ELLIS Brian “Fox” Ellis, more than a fan of Whitman, spent a week in New York and Brooklyn, walking in Whitman’s footsteps reciting Whitman to anyone who would listen, often reading poems in the places they were written.He is also of Cherokee descent and has performed at Powwows and native gatherings across the country.
