The Parlee ESX is one of the fastest frames money can buy, but it is also one of the smoothest while remaining very light (under 1000 grams). BEARING GRADES AND QUALITY A version of this article was originally published in Triathlete Magazine. In the April 2009 issue of Triathlete, in the Tech Support column, there was an article that mentioned ceramic (hybrid) bearings and recommended a Grade 3 bearing or better. From the Internet, I found that some manufacturers say Grade 5 bearings are the best to get (for cycling applications), while others say Grade 3 is SHIMANO GRX 800 REVIEW As of spring 2020, Shimano is offering GRX810 cranks in 170, 172.5 and 175mm. The lack of a 165mm is a large hole in the offerings. Thankfully, the GRX600 crank with 46/30 gearing is available in a 165mm and is cross compatible, albeit at the expense of about 100 grams of weight. Hopefully Shimano will expand crank length offeringsin the 800

All of these brands know how to build a high quality bike. CERAMIC BEARINGS VS. STEEL BEARINGS ON BICYCLES. WHICH IS Of the different components of a bearing (races, cages, seals, grease), friction from the actual ball bearings is only about 3%. Frictional differences between a high quality steel ball and a ceramic is a 10-15% improvement at best. This means that the overall friction reduction between a high quality steel bearing and a ceramic is below0.5%.

SHOULD I GO WITH A BIGGER OR SMALLER FRAME SIZE? I think your question is common for two primary reasons. First, compact frame geometries and sloping top tubes have laterally stiffened frames over their non-sloping, traditional predecessors. In a nutshell, all else being equal, a smaller frame with “tighter triangles” and shorter tubes are actually stiffer than a biggerframe and thus can

Just had my 3rd fitting at Fitwerx 2. I think it's important to always be looking for improvements in your bike fit. Dean, as always, was a pro, and helped me find a few new ways to get more aero and gain some free speed. My appointment was prompt, professional, and efficient. I left with my new-adjusted bike, and will be trying out my new fit soon! If you are going anywhere other than Fitwerx for your high-end bike and fitting needs, you're doing it wrong!read more View More Testimonials ARE YOU READY TO RIDE BETTER, FASTER AND MORE COMFORTABLY?
