The SELF (Support, Education, Life Skills & Family) Program specializes in serving the complex, hard to reach, and disconnected children, adults and families who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or situational challenges. Our goal is to strengthen, empower and improve the life circumstances of each clientand their family.
HEALTHY FAMILIES
Healthy Families is committed to supporting families as long as they feel a need for the program. We are able to provide services to enrolled families for up to five years, or when the child enters a school program such as 4K or Head Start. OPEN DOOR YOUTH SERVICES The Open Door Youth Services program is open to runaway and at-risk youth age 11-20 who reside in Brown County. We may be able to serve youth outside of Brown County depending on the situation, current case load, and availability of staff to travel outside the service area. UNDER PRESSURE: ATHLETES AND MENTAL HEALTH Mental health can greatly impact the athlete’s performance if not addressed. Sports counseling can help athletes learn healthy coping skills to manage their feelings effectively, which in turn, could improve the athlete’s performance.”. SEXUAL ASSAULT CENTER The Sexual Assault Center offers the following services to survivors and their loved ones: Crisis Intervention & Supportive Counseling: Specially trained Sexual Assault Center advocates are available by phone and in-person 24/7, and can make referrals to therapists as needed. Medical Advocacy: If you choose to seek medical care following an assault, an advocate from the Sexual Assault Center 8 WAYS TO STRENGTHEN A PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP Connection starts with listening. Acknowledge your child’s feelings, show them you understand, and reassure them that you are there to help with whatever they need. Try to see things from your child’s perspective. By listening and empathizing with your child, you will begin to foster mutual respect. Play Together. UNDER PRESSURE: ATHLETES AND MENTAL HEALTH Mental health can greatly impact the athlete’s performance if not addressed. Sports counseling can help athletes learn healthy coping skills to manage their feelings effectively, which in turn, could improve the athlete’s performance.”. A community partnership to protect, heal and care for abused children. On average, there are about 5,000 reports of child abuse in Brown County each year. That’s why we opened Willow Tree in 2011. Willow Tree provides a safe, child-friendly facility with a home-like atmosphere where children and their families can go to report abuse and begin their recovery. Our staff will assist families each step of the way, from the early stages of an investigation through medical assistance and healing.Find out more
