FAIRFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY AND FAIRFIELD WOODS BRANCH LIBRARY NOW OPEN LIMITED HOURS FOR IN-PERSON QUICK BROWSING AND CHECKOUT A message from Helene Murtha, Town Librarian: As the COVID risk declines, in-person building access will continue to expand. The Governor’s message for mask wearing allows that “businesses, state and local government offices and events may choose to require universal masking.” At this time, Fairfield Public Library buildings will be following the recommendation of the CT Deptartment of Public Health stating that “masks be required inside an establishment where there is likely to be a mix of vaccinated and unvaccinated people (including children younger than 12 years).” The library consults continually with the Town of Fairfield’s Health Department to maintain the appropriate environment to keep our patrons and staff healthy and the library operational. Public libraries will continue to consult state public library sector guidance regardingservices.
