Exhibitors offer a fresh and refined selection of ABOUT - THE DECORATIVE ANTIQUES & TEXTILES FAIR The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair (known as The Decorative Fair) is a family-owned event that launched in 1985 to specifically unite the antiques and interior design trades. We hold three events each year: a Winter Fair in late January, a Spring Fair in mid-May and an Autumn Fair duri ng the busy ‘design season’ in late September/early October. REGENCY INTERIOR STYLE INSPIRED BY JANE AUSTEN Regency Interior Style inspired by Jane Austen. Two recent foyer display room-sets at the Fair focused on Regency period style, inspired by interiors that would have been familiar to Jane Austen. One room was based on Mansfield Park, the grand fictional property filled with fine furniture and paintings, the other on ChawtonCottage.

Objects and art once used in traditional seaside attractions, fairgrounds and the circus are now becoming highly collectable, and much loved as ‘alternative’ or ‘outsider’ art to decorate the home. CHINTZ - THE DECORATIVE ANTIQUES & TEXTILES FAIR Chintz is calico cloth printed with flowers and other devices in different colours. The word Chintz is Hindi and derived from the Sanskrit “chitra” which means many-coloured or speckled. Chintz was originally a painted or stained calico* produced in India from1600 to
