MESH SUBSAMPLING AND COMPRESSION Re: Mesh Subsampling and Compression. The 'sample points' method really only samples points on a mesh (randomly). The output is a point cloud and you lose all the triangles / topology. You could re-create a mesh from the sampled cloud (with Poisson Reconstruction for instance) but the result is not always satisfactory.POINTS CLOUD TO DXF

And you have basically reached the limits of your system (if you reached 44% with only 32Gb of memory, I bet the system was already 'swapping' a lot and the process must have been terribly slow).CLOUDCOMPARE

HOW TO SAVE OUTPUTS LIKE CONTOURS AND POINT CLOUDS I hope you will excuse a newbie dumb question, but I am struggling to get meaningful exports from CloudCompare. I was able to import 4 Lidar point clouds, merge them together, crop to an area of interest, classify to ground and generate contours, very easy andstraightforward.

CONTOURS & Z VALUE INDICATOR Contours & Z value indicator. and thanks for the great program, Daniel! This is very useful for point cloud processing. I'm quite new with CloudCompare, so forgive me. I have a question regarding to contour lines and scalar fields ( Z value indicator ). I have a terrain point cloud and I've created colorized contour lines (plot)for it.
