BIOCHEMISTRY STUDENTS PRESENT RESEARCH AT PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL SCIENCESYMPOSIUM
In the spring semester of her first year at Curry, Sarah Tadman ’21 began collaborating with Dr. Sandor Kadar on new research examining the association between electric magnetic fields near power lines and childhood leukemia cases. Now, just weeks before graduating, the Biochemistry major has recently presented her findings – after roughly seven semesters of research – at the New England ScienceSymposium (NESS).
CURRY’S DECA CHAPTER BRINGS UNIQUE CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES The newly formed Curry DECA Chapter is a small but mighty group. In its first two years, the students have competed in six business categories and earned six medals in marketing, human resource management, entrepreneurship, finance, and business ethics. As the graduating seniors conclude their collegiate careers this month, the Curry College DECA Chapter invites all interested students to join theaward-winning team.
INTERNATIONAL LEARNING RETURNS: STUDENTS MAKE PLANS TO GO ABROAD FORFALL AND SPRING
This month, a handful of Curry College students are exploring plans to study abroad for the fall and spring semesters with destinations that include Costa Rica, London and Japan. As travel restrictions relax, the College offers several ways for students to travel either semester-long or short-term trips through its Study Away program CLASS OF 2021 CONCLUDE EXTRAORDINARY COLLEGE EXPERIENCE IN COMMENCEMENT CELEBRATION On a summer-like day, Curry College honored 687 graduates from the Class of 2021 in its 141st Commencement celebration. The ceremony, to which graduates were allowed to invite two guests, was live streamed today from the Walter M. Katz field to approximately 2,300 family members, friends, alumni, faculty and staff among other Currycommunity members.

Curry College honored 689 graduates from the Class of 2020 in its 140th Commencement celebration on Saturday, May 22, 2021. The ceremony, to which graduates were allowed to invite two guests, was live-streamed from the Walter M. Katz field to approximately 800 family members, friends, alumni, faculty and staff among other Curry community members. The in-person ceremony was especially cherished after a year-plus of adversity and uncertainty stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, including an unprecedented remote final semester at the College last spring. 52ND ANNUAL AWARDS DAY CELEBRATES THE BEST OF CURRY COLLEGE This month, the College honored the best and brightest during its 52nd Annual Curry College Awards Recognition Ceremony, which was held as a week-long social media campaign to honor the amazing accomplishments of the 2020-21 academic year. Beyond excelling in a year like no other, the award-winners were honored for their notable achievements in academics, athletics, arts, service, and socialjustice.
FACULTY MEMBERS HONORED WITH 2020-2021 EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AWARDS The Excellence in Teaching Committee has recognized 13 Curry College faculty members for their accomplishments in a variety of areas during the 2020-2021 academic year, including research, community engagement, partnerships, arts and humanities, collaboration and scholarship inthe field.
COLLEGE NAMES DR. MICHELLE MCMAHON NEW DEAN OF SCHOOL OF NURSING Curry College today announced Michelle McMahon, Ph.D., R.N., CNE, as Dean of the School of Nursing, effective June 1, 2021. Dr. McMahon, a renowned nurse educator, scholar, and 13-year veteran of the College, will succeed Dean Desiree Hensel, who has led the School of Nursingsince 2017.
