Paul D. Hinkle is known as the Dean of Indiana College Basketball Coaches. Hinkle coached three sports at Butler College. His football, basketball, and baseball teams won more than 1,000 games. Biography. In 1980 Thomas became the first freshman in conference history to win All Big Ten honors. As an All-American sophomore averaging 16 points and 5.8 assists a game, he led Indiana to the NCAA Championship and was named the NCAA Final Four MVP. Thomas left Indiana to enter the 1981 NBA draft. He was named 1982 NBA Rookie ofthe Year.

Biography. McLendon was born in Hiawatha, KS and studied at the University of Kansas where he was a student of the game under Dr. James Naismith in the 1930s. He coached football briefly at Tennessess A&I and Arkansas A&M before moving onto a long career at Langston. he coached football and basketball at Langston, with two National Negro championships in each sport and guided his team to a streak of 51 consecutive wins.JULIUS W. Known as "Dr. J" or simply, "The Doctor", Erving was an awesome "above the rim" athlete and a master of airborne moves, dunks and rebounds. Julius exploded on the college scene at the University of Massachusetts, averaging 27 points and 19 rebounds a game in his junior year before leaving the school to sign a four-year, $500,000 contract with the American Basketball Association's Virginia Squires. The National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame occupies approximately one-third of The College Basketball Experience and will compliment the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame by enshrining great coaches, players and teams who deserve recognition but may be omitted from Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame. Biography. In 1980 Thomas became the first freshman in conference history to win All Big Ten honors. As an All-American sophomore averaging 16 points and 5.8 assists a game, he led Indiana to the NCAA Championship and was named the NCAA Final Four MVP. Thomas left Indiana to enter the 1981 NBA draft. He was named 1982 NBA Rookie ofthe Year.

JOHN B. MCLENDON
Biography. McLendon was born in Hiawatha, KS and studied at the University of Kansas where he was a student of the game under Dr. James Naismith in the 1930s. Because the KU varsity did not accept African American players at the time, McLendon was unable to suit up and play for the school. He coached high school and collegebasketball.
GEORGE RAVELING
The Villanova graduate has deep roots in college coaching. As the head coach at Washington State, he led the Cougars to two NCAA tournament berths in 11 seasons. He then led Iowa to back-to-back 20-win seasons and two NCAA berths. Raveling ended his coaching career at Southern California from 1987-94 where he led the Trojans to NCAA tournamentMARQUES JOHNSON

Paul D. Hinkle is known as the Dean of Indiana College Basketball Coaches. Hinkle coached three sports at Butler College. His football, basketball, and baseball teams won more than 1,000 games.
