One of the vendor booths was filled with old window screens that she had painted with different wildflowers. Be still my beating heart. THE SALVATION LETTERS Last week my kids went to Vacation Bible School. They did what any kid normally does at vacation bible school. There was singing, craft time, games and more. It was same ol’, same ol’ even in one part that I didn’t want to be the same. You see last year as I picked our oldest HOW TO MAKE CHALK PAINT Chalk Paint. 1 Cup Paint (any color) 1 Tablespoon of Plaster of Paris (shift or stir well to break up clumps before using) 1/4 cup hot water. Add plaster of paris to paint and mix well. I used a spoon so I could press any clumps against the side of the bowl to break them up. Slowly add hot water (must be hot) and stir well until pretty smooth. DIY WATERCOLOR EFFECT ORNAMENTS MADE WITH ALCOHOL INKS Once you’re ready to start, take the cap off of your glass ornament and place it to the side. Next, drop two drops of your first color inside the ornament towards the top. Slowly.. and I mean slowly, move the glass ball around to make the puddle grow larger and larger, spreading the alcohol ink out. You want to go slowly to keep thealcohol

Once your chocolate is melted, lay out your popcorn on a sheet of wax paper and drizzle the top of it with the melted chocolate. Now that it’s pretty well covered, it’s time for the magic. Sprinkle the fairy dust (also known as colored sanding sugar) on top of the popcorn. Then you’re going to repeat this process with sprinkles. Then I decided to share with you guys how to make a water blob which is a great water activity for kids (and adults) in ALTERNATIVES TO KEURIG? Speed-. It’s fast y’all. Unlike the Keurig, the Bunn keeps the water warm at all times. If you use it daily than it will start to brew immediately. If you haven’t used it in over a day than it might reheat the water first which takes 30 seconds or so and then it will be ready to brew. HOW TO CARVE ROCKS USING A DREMEL First you’re going to need to gather your rocks and a Dremel with a diamond carving tip and several different sizes of a grinding tip. All of these tips were included with my Dremel so check your drill bits before you purchase any. You’ll also need a cup of water and a towel. Start with the diamond carving tip set on a slower speed. PRINTING WITH POTATOES : EASY WAY TO MAKE PATTERNS AND Before there were Cricuts or even simple plastic stencils there was printing with potatoes. You can't get more basic than using a potato to make a print but the good news is that the more basic something is, the easier it is. Potato prints are an easy and quick craft that is wonderful for all ages. HOW TO PAINT PEG DOLLS When you’re ready, add the eyes and cheeks to your doll. The purple doll also got blue polka dots added to her dress. Dots will save the world, just wait and see. Once you have your cheeks and eyes, using the smallest paint brush you have, add a simple half moon smile and you’re done painting. DIY Screen Art – Paint Those Screens! Last year as we were visiting family in a tiny Texas town, we happened upon the best street fair. One of the vendor booths was filled with old window screens that she had painted with different wildflowers. Be still my beating heart. I loved the look of the painted window screens and almost bought one to RECYCLING GLASS JARS USING ALCOHOL INKS! GREAT RECYCLING The rubbing alcohol acts as a surface agent that will help the alcohol ink spread on the glass. I spent time experimenting with different ways and techniques I found online for working with the rubbing alcohol. Some said to use a lot of it but I found that this left ALTERNATIVES TO KEURIG? Speed-. It’s fast y’all. Unlike the Keurig, the Bunn keeps the water warm at all times. If you use it daily than it will start to brew immediately. If you haven’t used it in over a day than it might reheat the water first which takes 30 seconds or so and then it will be ready to brew. Considering the finished drink is hotter than Keurig DIY WATERCOLOR EFFECT ORNAMENTS MADE WITH ALCOHOL INKS Once you’re ready to start, take the cap off of your glass ornament and place it to the side. After you gather all your ingredients place the flour, spices, and butter into a food processor and pulse to make it resemble coarse corn meal. If you don’t have a food processor than you can cut it together using a pastry knife. Now you need one tub of the Concentrated Chicken Stock. HOW TO CARVE ROCKS USING A DREMEL First you’re going to need to gather your rocks and a Dremel with a diamond carving tip and several different sizes of a grinding tip. All of these tips were included with my Dremel so check your drill bits before you purchase any. You’ll also need a cup of water and a towel. Start with the diamond carving tip set on a slower speed. HOW TO PAINT PEG DOLLS When you’re ready, add the eyes and cheeks to your doll. The purple doll also got blue polka dots added to her dress. Dots will save the world, just wait and see. Once you have your cheeks and eyes, using the smallest paint brush you have, add a simple half moon smile and you’re done painting. The final step when making peg dolls is simply PRINTING WITH POTATOES : EASY WAY TO MAKE PATTERNS AND Before there were Cricuts or even simple plastic stencils there was printing with potatoes. You can't get more basic than using a potato to make a print but the good news is that the more basic something is, the easier it is. Potato prints are an easy and quick craft that is wonderful for all ages. If you like how it looks, reapply a little paint and do your first real print on your surface. Press the potato down firmly onto your surface and then gently lift if off. Make sure it is well mixed and then pour it into your mold using the cup or ladle. If you want your kids to help than I recommend doing all the above steps alone. Then once you have the cement poured into the mold you can bring in kids to help the rest of the way. First we started by pouring glass beads down the middle of the stepping stonemold.
HOW TO PAINT WITH ACRYLICS The first step when painting with acrylic paints is to decide the surface that you want to paint. The great news about acrylic is that it bonds with a lot of surfaces. I paint on three main surfaces – scrap wood, canvases or wood panel canvases. The main thing when painting with acrylics is that you want to avoid shiny surfaces. Slowly add hot water (must be hot) and stir well until pretty smooth.
