CLIMB TO THE STARS

The grass is green the sky is grey. The wind is blowing through the leaves. I hear the birds sing merrily. I smell the flowers sweet of May. As through the fields I walk alone. The cold grey creeps inside my skin. I feel the numbness oozing in. My heart has not yet turned to stone. I need no one. After 2.5 years of dealing daily with feline diabetes (and over two years of managing a French support group), I thought I’d put together an English version of what my best advice for diabetic cat owners is so far, as most of what I’ve written on the subject is in French.. MISSING KITTY
The Story. Bagha has been missing now for over 24 hours. He’s an outdoor cat. I let him out in the morning. He comes in and out as he wishes during the day. I bring him in for the night. He sleeps in the crook of my arm. It usually takes me about 3 minutes to find him inthe evening.
USA BORDER CROSSING HORROR STORIES I’ve been listening to On The Media again, one of my favorite podcasts. You know, each time one of these US border crossing horror stories finds its way to me, what little desire I have to enter the US just melts away a bit more.. Here are a few I came across lately, WHY I END UP SHARING WITHOUT READING A few weeks ago, I came upon an article (which I’m too tired to hunt for right now) which said that a huge number of articles shared through social media (understand: Twitter and Facebook) haFEBRUARY 2004

MUSINGS ON A MULTIBLOG WORDPRESS Considering multi-blog setup, you should look at the b2evolution.. It is an advanced blog engine, based on b2/cafelog – the same roots as WordPress. In b2evolution the multi-blog feature is included by default and it has been there for some time already. There is also a fine-grained access control per user/blog/operations – you may enable one user to have full access to one blog and no SMOKERS AND SMELL: A RANT Smokers, clearly, do not realize how much they smell. I know smoking takes away some of your sense of smell. And we get used to smells we live in. But I don’t live in smoke, and I have a good nose. A heavy smoker friend of mine once taunted me saying smoke didn’t stink. Isaid it did for me.
JULY 2004 – CLIMB TO THE STARS Six Apart bought Ublog, as you know. I think it's really a pity that no official announcement was made to the users of the U-blog platform. NIGHT JEWELLERY
I never wear any jewellery (heck, I’m not a girl for chrissake), but I do wear a wristwatch (that’s the Swiss for you). Which I nearly always remove at night because: – it ticks – for some reason, I always get the feeling that my watch is tighter at night. APRIL 2004 – CLIMB TO THE STARS I got my iBook last Tuesday. I bought a router on Thursday, and I finally got everything hooked up yesterday. I’m now happily typing away on my sofa with not a cable attached, cat snuggled up next to me, xchat running in the background while iTunes is busy ripping GETTING YOUR ICLOUD PHOTOSTREAM TO PLAY NICE WITH So, with all the cat photos I’ve been taking, both with my “good camera” and my iPhone, and trying to publish them both to Flickr and Facebook, I’ve been looking for solutio ABOUT ME AND THIS SITE I was born to a Swiss mother and a British father in the UK during the summer of the year 1974, and we moved to Switzerland two years later, complete with van and little brother. IMPLICITE
* Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) * Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)*

Hier, j’écoutais “Creatures of Habit“, un épisode
* Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window) * Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window) * Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)*

Sometimes, I write, and I pretend that it’s not me. It’s easy. I just put the words down, and stop worrying if “I” is “me”. It goes back and forth. If I believed in spirits I might say one is talking through me. I feel other. I read my words and cannot imagine writing them. Somebody else was there, in my fingers, singing in my mind. I stop worrying about being true to facts – just true to expression. True to emotion. Sometimes to emotion that feels alien, or that I didn’t know I had. There are things deep inside that try to crawl out, or push through the earth of the soul into the sunlight. The murky underwater of my being. That maybe doesn’t entirely belongto me.

Je tente de me tourner vers l’intérieur: apprendre, me former, mieux gérer mon quotidien, mieux me connaître, écrire, écrire plus.
