Thomas J. Carroll, Jr. was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on August 6, 1909. Carroll attended Gloucester High School, graduating in 1928. He then went on to study Greek, Latin, and Philosophy at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA, graduating in 1932. Deciding to become a priest, he attended St. John’s Seminary, and was ordained in 1938. Adults. Our comprehensive vision rehabilitation programs are designed for adults new to vision loss as well as for those who have had a significant loss in vision over time. Young adults transitioning out of high school are also served by our programs. A residential campus with dormitory living on-site provides a unique experience for every client and the opportunity to meet and live with other visually-impaired people. OUR FOUNDER
Thomas J. Carroll, Jr. was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts on August 6, 1909. Carroll attended Gloucester High School, graduating in 1928. He then went on to study Greek, Latin, and Philosophy at Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA, graduating in 1932. Deciding to become a priest, he attended St. John’s Seminary, and was ordained in 1938.VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME

For children up to the age of 13 years old who are blind or have low vision, the Carroll Center for the Blind offers a multitude of services that parents can depend on to ensure that developmentalmilestones are met.

Students between the ages of 14 to 21 years old can participate in weekend and summer programs to help them transition into young adulthood, fostering independence while preparing them for future success. For older teens, we offer academic year programs to support developing vocational skills.teens
