GOTTLIEB, LOIS
Gottlieb traveled with her husband, Robert, a violist and music teacher, teaching architecture in countries as far away as India, Thailand, Nepal, and Austria. Gottilieb worked as an architect while raising two children: a daughter and son, Karen, and Mark. One of Gottlieb’s greatest projects was designing a house with her son,Mark.

Biography. Mary Louisa Page seems to have been the first woman to graduate with a degree in architecture in North America. 1 Born in Metamora, IL, in 1849, she attended Illinois Industrial University (later University of Illinois) beginning in 1874, receiving a Certificate in Architecture in 1878 and a B.S. in Architecture in 1879. 2 At the university she served as a senator in student ANNA WAGNER KEICHLINE Anna Wagner Keichline (1889–1943) was the first registered woman architect in Pennsylvania and was among the first registered women architects in the United States. During her long career, she designed dozens of commercial and residential buildings, as well as numerous industrial products. She was awarded seven patents for her innovativeELEANOR RAYMOND
Eleanor Raymond (1887–1989) was a Massachusetts architect specializing in residential projects. She produced a modern, multi-functional domestic architecture that remains relevant today. She is best known for designing one of the first solar-heated houses,ALICE J. HANDS

Maxman was thirty years old and the mother of six when she enrolled in architecture school.
