The Trial of Red Jacket depicts a scene in which Sagoyewatha or Red Jacket, a Seneca leader and orator, is on trial for witchcraft after being accused by rivals Handsome Lake and Cornplanter. ERIE CANAL - THE BUFFALO HISTORY MUSEUM Marriage of the Waters—Erie Canal. The sculptor, Edmond Amateis, carved 11 panels for the outside of the Buffalo History Museum to commemorate local historic events. This is a plaster relief of the Marriage of the Waters panel that shows Dewitt Clinton at the openingof the Erie Canal.

------------------------- Pioneering attorney Winifred Stanley (1909-1996), who grew up in Buffalo and earned her law degree from the University at Buffalo, was elected to the U.S. Congress in 1942.
